  1. I love the internet. I realized I'd never heard Tweedy singing I Threw It All Away so just decided to look for it on www.sooutoftune.org, and voila! Just filter down to 1999, artist Jeff Tweedy, and there's the whole Lounge Ax show.
  2. Where I wish I were going to be tonight: 2 hours up the road in Richmond to see St. Vincent. Where I will be tonight: Working.
  3. We've rehashed this subject so often that it does seem a little silly, but I'll just say that I think there is ZERO chance of a reunion tour. What I do think could happen is that at some random concert or festival, if the timing was right and the stars aligned and both Jeff and Jay were feeling sentimental/warmhearted/forgiving, they might just decide to be a special surprise guest for a song or two at the other's show. Actually, as they both get older and maybe more reflective, I really think they could both appreciate how cool that would be for the fans. So it wouldn't exactly be Uncle
  4. In case anyone doesn't recognize these lyrics they're from the late great Warren Zevon, and prophetically written before his own diagnosis of mesothelioma. I've thought about them often in the sad recent run of RIPs.
  5. Having just watched the live stream from the Hangout Festival--I tuned in too early and watched the crowd during the electronica set--I found this skit hilarious!
  6. Well, i absolutely agree that a reunion is highly unlikely, but I couldn't help noticing that Jay Farrar will be playing at Newport two nights after Wilco. It would be an unbelievable hoot if he were to make some kind of a guest appearance, maybe during an encore set.
  7. I just love your boldness, Sarah! I don't think I could do that in a million years.
  8. Oh no, they NEED to open with One Sunday Morning!
  9. Hey everybody, Wilco's set is at 7:30 Central time. I was wondering how much longer this techno shit that's playing now was going to go on, then I noticed the time zone.
  10. A special request from Sarah C, who can't get signed on at all, I believe.
  11. Ha ha, DougC! No, I'm just glad that after that remark you don't have me labeled as one of the a-holes. You'll have to excuse my exuberance. It's been a while since I've seen the whole band and I've been a little giddy.
  12. Embarrassing turnout was right, but the few of us who were there gave up loads of love. I think they felt it. So, so happy to see the boys! And so great to spend some time with other Wilco fans. I do love this band.
  13. I voted for you. Hope to see you tonight in St. Augustine!
  14. Consider yourself bugged. And begged. That show was just amazing. I really need to hear it again to see if was as special as it felt to me last night. Pretty please?
  15. And I, as always, appreciate the detailed banter reports. (Not to mention the facial hair reports!) The guitar geek details go right over my head. But no matter what turns us on, I think we can all agree that this sounds like a fantastic show. Did Sarah C. get her front row spot?
  16. So good. I shared this on my Facebook page.
  17. So glad you were there to document this for us, Paul. Did everybody look happy? Any interesting new facial hair? How about the set design--they still using those little bunches of white cloth? I'll be seeing them in Tampa on Monday--so excited!
  18. Thanks for the food recommendations. I'll definitely be checking out that taco place, and maybe more. We'll be staying at the Hotel Monaco (the package deal) and I guess we'll naturally be meeting with others who are part of that group. But since there will be a bunch of Wilco fans at that hotel--I assume--maybe the bar there, or something nearby, would be a good meeting place. Not sure when, though--I haven't looked closely at the schedule. Maybe brunch or lunch in Denver will be more feasible. I guess we'll figure out more as the big weekend gets closer.
  19. Can't wait to hear the reports from Fayetteville--first of the tour!
  20. Yes, when I look at it all laid out like this, I realize it seems to verge on insanity. The list didn't even include the 2 Tweedy benefit solo shows in Chicago at the end of March. So, that's 11 through the end of the summer. No, I will NOT be adding any more. . . unless they're practically in my backyard! As I mentioned in a different thread, I probably wouldn't have done all of these if I had known about all the dates at once. Instead, since they trickled out over time, I kept grabbing up shows that looked doable as part of a mini-vacation/road trip, and the geographical location did have
  21. Hilarious! You have a gift for, this! Made my day:
