I like some of his movies and dislike others. What do I win?

I apologize if it's been said (and it is way over-used in sports arenas across the country), but Hell's Bells must be mentioned.

I haven't heard the bonus disc yet (I don't know where you folks find these things), but I agree with you on the proper album. Much more mature and challenging than most of AA. But I think I come at AB from a different place than most. I hear a lot of people say Dark Matter was the best song on AA and it is by far my least favorite.

That's about the ONLY compliment those announcers last night didn't pay him as they slurped him all night. The game was closer than I expected. I think the criticism of Big 12 defenses is warranted and, though cliche, the axiom "defense wins championships" is true. However, I really can't remember a game that hinged on so few plays. OU had two or three golden opportunities to take the lead and didn't. And Tebow's two interceptions potentially prevented FL from taking a big lead. Overall, the teams were pretty evenly matched, I would say, and FL just made a couple more key plays than OU. Good

Well i guess I didn't make my point clear either. If you are making wholesale changes by firing the coaching staff and the GM, presumably you feel wholesale football changes are in order. Seems strange to hire a guy from the exact same mold and it seems backwards to do it before you hire the GM.
-
Wait a minute. Aren't the Browns replacing the GM too? So they fire their head coach and GM and are going to stick with the same system!?! And, for that matter, isn't it going to be a lot harder to find a quality GM if you don't even allow him to pick the head coach?

I will probably not go to this. I haven't really been a fan of any post-Jerry incarnations. For that matter, it was rare I was fan of any post-Brent incarnations. But, of all I have seen -- and I've seen the Other Ones, a few different Phil & Friends, Ratdog and The Dead -- for my money the best was with Haynes. He brings soul to the Jerry ballads that no one else does. Granted it in no way compares to the soul JERRY brought to the Jerry ballads, but I don't think anyone could. I was hugely let down with Herring and Kimock -- both of whom I love -- as they seemed to be more imitating Jerry

There are some Browns fans around here, right? How does swapping one Belichick Defensive Coordinator for another make sense?

Better question: which one has the more pretentious indie-riffic name? I kid, I kid.

Another one bites the dust: Broncos fire Shanahan.

So I was watching the Dallas/Philly game on a plane yesterday, so I may have missed something. But why is no one talking about the fact that Romo blatantly ignored his coach on the 4th and inches play? Wade had sent in the punting unit and Romo sent them back and called his own number. Granted they got the first down, but that seemed to be a microcosm of the Cowboys team at this point. Sometimes that shit works, but there's no order and no "team" there. Wade should've benched his ass right then. I don't dislike Romo really, but that move needed to have some consequences attached to it, IMO.

Bummer. One of my favorites. A quick check of iTunes shows I have 22 Hubbard albums. That even surprised me, but I went on a Hubbard kick while I was studying jazz at Manhattan School of Music. He's put out some great stuff (and some real cheese). I'll put on some of the great stuff now.

Definitely. If you are fan of their music and that type of music, you will not be disappointed in the live show. Tons of energy. I saw them open for Manu Chao a couple of years ago at Red Rocks and loved it. saw them this past September at ACL Fest and it was good too, though not as good as Red Rocks.

You know, the thing is Dallas is still probably going to make the playoffs and playing in the WC game against an NFC North team (most likely the Vikes) will be their best chance to finally win a playoff game. Think about this: the last time the Cowgirls won a playoff game, the Jonbenet Ramsey case was three days old. I still have my fingers crossed they miss the playoffs entirely.

Wilco. Had Jay Bennett not left the band

What was thrown? This reminds me a Phish show I saw in the early '90s in Gunnison, CO. The venue supplied whole avocados in the dressing room instead of the requested guacamole. So the band threw the avocados into the crowd for "make guacamole jam." -
My fiance got me a Delorme Earthmate PN-40 for Christmas (we opened gifts with her parents over the weekend). I know this is great GPS for the backcountry which is one of the reasons I want one, but it doesn't support international maps. Since we are planning a big international trip, we thought it would be good to get one that supports international maps. Does anyone know of any good ones? Here are the things we'd like to use it for: - Backcountry - International travel/driving directions - U.S. driving directions There may very well be no good GPS that does all that, but I thought I'd fl

So Pitchfork, after having Panda Bear as the #1 album of 2007, has followed that up by naming Fleet Foxes the #1 album of 2008. I guess if I'm to be considered cool by the hipsters-that-be I'll have to crank my reverb up to interminable levels.

Patience, my friend. It's entirely possible they'll do both a tour and festivals.
-
Uhh, they MAY still do their own festivals. But that shit takes some serious planning. I know the folks who put together Rothbury and to put together a big festival takes a lot of time and lot of planning. Phish reduced the size of their organizations significantly when they broke up. It's smart, IMO, to do it right ... ESPECIALLY given the hard feelings many fans had after Coventry. I doubt I'd ever go to another Phish Fest (only went to Cypress), but there will be plenty of opportunities to see Phish (and not have to bowl, surf or ski at the same time) this summer. Trust me.
