Exactly my friend. This is why I loved the movie as well, I'm just not smart enough to articulate my thoughts the way you have. The part where he's under the computer desk telling his mom the story, and the camera is under the desk pointed up at her while she types (partially obstructed by the desk).. I remember things like that when I was a child..

Exactly. Weezer has become a novelty of themselves.. Although Green had some good tunes, and even Maladroit was a decent record. But still, post Pinkerton Weezer, Rivers just lost his edge..

I have never heard a Wilco song played on the radio... Shows how much I listen to the radio I guess..

Well what else are they supposed to say? They should be easy to see... It's supposed to be a dream seen through a childs eye's. It's bits of pieces of what he saw in his day. I really liked the whole uneasy feeling of the movie. This side of it was very characterisic of Spike Jonze (see Being John Malkovich).. I always felt like something really bad was going to happen the whole time, but it never did. I think some of you were just expecting more. Yes, it could have been better but I think it was done very well and I personally enjoyed it very much. I was thinking 11 or 12.. Not

What he said. Islands is a great song, as well as many other songs from The Green album... "Beverly Hills" signaled the end of Weezer for me.. It's been all down hill from there.

For some reason that made me LOL.. I can just picture Glenn rocking out on the drums, staring straight at her the entire time.. When I sat on the front row in Charleston last year, it was actually a little awkward at times when a band member would look back at you. I was literally 2 feet in front of Jeff, so our eyes would meet on an occasion..

I'm thinking of taking my kids (4 and 6) to their first Wilco show in Savannah GA. It seems like a nice seated theatre venue.. They both love music and Wilco and I think it will be good for them. Hey, I was six when I went to my first concert, and my little sister was 3! It might be wise to get balcony seats since most people will be seated, allowing the little one's a view of the show.

Good plan. I'm thinking about making this my kids first Wilco show as well (4 and 6 years old).... Yeah, trying to start them young so hopefully they'll be into good music when they become tweens/teens.

I loved the movie, and so did the kids. The only time they got a little scared was a short part at the very beginning, but other than that they loved it.. There were times I thought they got a little bored, but after the movie they started telling me about all of their favorite parts so I knew they were paying attention. SPOILER ALERT Nothing happened? Nothing is explained? You must have missed the whole point of the movie.. It's very metaphorical. It's about a kid that is making the transition from a child to an adult and all of the confusion that comes with that.. The whole m

Taking my kids to see it today.. One is 6 the other is 4.. I know everyone is saying its not appropriate for kids but it's my kids favorite book and we promised we would take them.. Is it really that bad? Worse than what kids see anyway these days on cable TV? We took them to see Star Wars the Clone Wars when it came out (has some violence of course) and they loved it.

Boy's dignity floats away in stupid publicity stunt

Sheriff doesn't think runaway balloon was a hoax For some reason I don't think it was a hoax either.. The whole "it was for the show" comment the boy made means nothing. I have a six year old and he says some random stuff sometimes. -
I dig the Autumn Defense.. But I have to be in a certain mood to listen to them.. They are just so damn happy and feel-goodie. I listen to them and I picture beautiful fields of flowers and butterfly's... Especially with "Circles". That's not a bad thing but I just have to be in the mood.

I always liked that song "Gold Lion".. Never heard "It's Blitz" until now and I like what I'm hearing.. Definitely different than their older stuff, I shall pick this up now.. Funny how a hateful post about them will lead to another album sale.

I know I was joking.. But how do you punish a kid for something like this? "No Falcon, bad boy.. Don't ever cause a shutdown of northbound departures from Denver airport, as well as a massive search by police and the National Gaurd ever again!" -
Wilco and The Flaming lips.. This would be way too awesome for the universe to handle, causing it to implode.

Hmm.. Should I wait until another possible southern date shows up, or go ahead and jump on this one? It is a 4+ hour drive for me.. But I am off work that day and the next... Decisions decisions....

Boy found hiding in attic. I think it's safe to say he's going to be getting the spanking of a life time. -
"Chris, where have you been?" "I don't know!"

I hope he never got on.. I hope he's hiding under a bed somewhere. If his brother saw him get in, why didn't he do anything to stop him? Seems kind of strange to me.. -
Well in that case, welcome to the forum salukidave!

I know this post smells a little like Spam, but I was curious to see the poll results. I voted for Being There and I was surprised to see that it's top on the list. Even more surprised to see A.M is above Summerteeth, and AGIB is second to last.

I met Nels after a Singers show in Asheville. Very cool, down to earth guy. There were only about 30 people at the show, so he came of stage at the end to talk to fans. I was a little embarrassed because my wife was incredibly drunk (doesn't drink very often and when she does... yikes), but I'm glad I got to meet him. Met Jeff and Michael after a show in Charleston. Jeff seemed kind of out of it.. Not really talking much.. But he just played a 2+ hour show, so I'm sure he was pretty worn out... It was raining after the show, and I told them that it was very cool of them to come out in
