Yes! Thanks Wilcoworld!

To Rich and the others in England/Europe: Here's a note from Tim Rutili of Califone: Jan. 24, 2007 - pastrysharp.com Just in case any of the shows in England were changed, thought you might like to know. (I think they had some shows in Sweden and Norway that were cancelled). Well I hope you are going anyway ... they're worth it. Sooooo good!

Get in your BMW and drive to a show like the rest of us. Or - start your own campaign. Bring Wilco To Fort Wayne!

I knew I liked that guy.

I love this:

Your current top 25 on iTunes (or whatever you have)
Wendy replied to Jesusetc84's topic in Someone Else's Song
(this is from my last fm stats - can you tell what are my 2 favorite bands? ) -
Have a cool cool day, austrya! ... and here's a few hoT boys to sing you "Happy Birthday"

He could be clairvoyant. Wagers anyone?

now that was a pleasant surprise. good catch, both of you! Carl! In case any of you were wondering who was my once-upon-a-time avatar, it was Carl. He so impressed me with his multi-instrumental skills during the opening act MMJ for the Wilco Louisville show last year. Jen and I were seated in the pit right in front of Carl, and he (along with MMJ) blew me away. And he's an IU dude!

Boy, am I in bad shape - I've only seen "Little Miss Sunshine" out of all these films.

I'm there, 2nd row! Thanks Uyen!

Robert!!! If you were in Chicago, you would have been right up there in front with me and LouieB and Renic!!! I just know it! I'm pretty sure they're not done touring behind Roots & Crowns yet. (owl would know more than me) I'm rooting for a Seattle show at least, and hopefully you could make the road trip if they do. (I know how you don't have much hope for Spokane, ditto Fort Wayne). Unless you are talking about live show recordings, which I agree those are hard to come by, too.

Surprisingly no - I think he "gets" me (especially since you and I ran into him in that bar in Ann Arbor), because I got a really big smile and a hello from him and Ben when they first saw me after sound check at the front of the indoor line. I was there with two other serious Califone fans, Frank and his girlfriend *name can't remember* ... see, I'm not alone! Yay!

Hey, Lou - that's a great way to support a great band. Buy all their stuff. Twice! I'm still so dang tired from those two days of fun in Chicago. First night (Thursday) was Ryan Adams at the House of Blues and that was one hell of a good (and long!) show which should be a thread of its own. But this one's about Califone. And DAMN! I love this band. Tim Tuten (one of the owners of The Hideout) enthusiastically introduced the band, and then was stage-side throughout the show, smiling and grooving to the almost tribal/hypnotic beat rhythm of Califone's two percussionists, Joe Ad

I cannot believe Borders in Chicago (I was at the one near the Riv) did not have the newly released Crowded House "Farewell To The World" DVD in stock, not the deluxe or the regular version. Nope, they're special order only. The Fort Wayne Borders definitely did not have it, but that's not surprising. What was surprising is that they only ordered 1 copy of the new CD release. And it was sold already. (FYI - I have a Borders gift card to use up). What's up with Borders? going out of business?

This is about the best news music-wise I could hope for. In fact - "Temple of Low Men" played in its entirety in my car carried me safely into my driveway from the Califone show in Chicago -- without requiring coffee - 5:15 a.m. It's fun to sing in the car alone!
-
Welcome to VC! Wilco will probably be touring for a long time to support this new release. I can't imagine them not touring this summer. Probably this spring and fall as well. But keep checking at wilcoworld.net and here for info!

... and Yep Roc also sent an apology letter:

Oh, I got that one too ... it was such good news! I noticed this at Rogue Wave's website: So he must have been getting the kidney the day of the benefit! I'm still gonna keep up the good karma for his continuing recovery and no rejection too.

Close. That is the Viva Voce female member singing on SNL with The Shins, but the guitarist is Eric Johnson from the Fruit Bats who is now a Shin. (Pitchfork article)

I think the author meant it was "economical" in relation to what Glenn is obviously capable of, as evidenced in his solo performance. At least that's how I read it.

Aw, WrigleyDog, that was a labor of love! I hope you don't mind that I edited your post to reflect the link to all songs in one bundle. I've downloaded them and bundled them into a folder ... and then I right-clicked on the folder and chose "add to .rar" (or zip) ... and then it zipped the folder. And THAT is the file I upload to rapidshare or yousendit or those places. That's how you get a folder of stuff ready to upload. Click here to download the whole batch as one single download.

http://www.mediafire.com/ Try this ... it seems to work okay IMO. No registration, no limits.

Ms Yvon ... finally getting due recognition!

The Shins could benefit from a little Candystations help (or somebody like that). Not that Wilco is boring, but I loved it when they had the visuals on the screen behind them. And those great Fred Tomaselli works too.
