The bank of North Adams? Not that I wouldn't LOVE having a new album next year... but this person isn't an official spokesman, and I simply wouldn't count on it to that degree. We'll all know in time.

So... I'm back at work, but I left my Spirit somewhere in North Adams. I've often thought that nothing would ever rival the experience of the Winter Residency, but Mass-MoCA ranks right up there. More often than not, it's about the kindred spirits I meet at Wilco shows that really *do* it for me. I love the music—always have—but it wouldn't be quite the same experience if not for all the kind people I met along the way. Going in to this thing, I knew there would be no way to see it all (without a time machine) so I didn't fret over the lines or over-capacity crowds. I do agree with Jethr

Yeah, but what color Crocs? Green, yellow, or purple, I wonder.

"We're on the Run" by Gold Hotel Pretty darn catchy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ts-bT5y3QBg

Best Coast on Pitchfork: Guest Lists Pretty cool interview where the band members talk about what interests them. Bobb Bruno even gives a shout out to Wilco as the "Last Great Concert I Saw". Fun read. Can't wait to see them in Raleigh in September.

Slim to none. Funny thing is, I've been close enough to both Tweedy and Farrar during shows, and have seen looks from both of them that leads me to believe they think the same thing. Strange feeling.

It'll be good to see you Greg! I missed you the last time show in Durham.

Actually, it's Jay Farrar, Natalie Merchant and her boyfriend, Scott Pelley (60 Minutes). It'll be good to see you and Tam!

3 coming from Raleigh, NC. We're camping at Blacksburg State Park.

John Irving didn't approve of the movie and withdrew his blessings, hence the name change. As for myself:

Where are you staying at Bill? Me and my friends will be camping at Blacksburg. (Thanks to Dr. Sax!)

ITBYH Blu-ray I thought they weren't doing this
bigshoulders replied to Blue and Green's topic in Just A Fan
Don't forget, blu-ray isn't just about an upgraded image, it's also about the uncompressed soundtrack. DVDs have a compressed soundtrack, blu-rays do not. (Think mp3 vs. CD.) I'll quietly duck out of this thread now. This is a dead horse. -
I told one of my colleagues in Chicago who was going to Pitchfork to catch them and report back to me, but somehow I think a birthday party for her daughter preempted the show. Best Coast will also be in Raleigh for the first annual Hopscotch Music Festival in September. I'm looking forward to catching their set then.

Steve Earle & The Del McCoury Band - The Mountain
bigshoulders replied to welch79's topic in Someone Else's Song
"The Mountain" is a great album. I saw Steve Earle perform at ACLF in 2007 (I think) and half his set included a DJ!?! I kind of lost interest in his current output after that. It just didn't feel right to me. Maybe he's dropped the DJ bit, but I wouldn't know. Going back to your original post, if you haven't already steeped yourself in The V-Roys, they're a great, but short-lived band. Just 2 essential albums to pick up: "Just Add Ice" and the "All About Town." Steve Earle produced one or both of these records (not sure) and they were on top of the alt.country (whatever that is) scene f -
Seems like a lifetime ago.

NEW BEAVIS & BUTT-HEAD EPISODES IN 2011!!!???!!!???!!!!!
bigshoulders replied to PopTodd's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Wonder if Tom Anderson (Hank Hill) will be in any episodes? I kinda miss that son of a gun now that "King of the Hill" is kaput. -
Saw Geggy Tah open up for Rusted Root in Rochester, NY circa 1997. Great energy. They ended the show by walking through the aisles, continuing to play drums, all the way to the back of the theatre, if my memory serves me correctly. Another old 90s favorite would be Tori Amos. I loved her in the beginning, but she kinda lost me somewhere along the way.

Glad you and the cats are okay. Everything else can be replaced. That's why we have insurance.

I was a big Belly fan back in the day. The band, not the body part. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e0bxXj2IBPA
