  1. Just a few from memory: Tom Waits - Rain Dogs & Make it Rain Whiskeytown - Sit and Listen to the Rain Randy Newman - Louisiana, 1927 Bruce - Lost in the Flood Cougar - Rain on the Scarecrow ... and you could close the setlist out with: Jimmy Cliff - I Can See Clearly Now
  2. This thread is making me thirsty! I think I'll buy a bottle of the Strahan's on the way home if my podunk ABC store carries it. Cheers!
  3. The The's entire album "Dusk" is another go-to record for me. To be listened to loud, and if at all possible at night, or at the very least, dusk.
  4. At least she can spell correctly. Some great art in this thread. Keep 'em coming. Are you painting again, Isadorah? Hope so.
  5. The Mountain Goats' "This Year" has been an anthem of sorts for me for the past couple of years.
  6. Speaking of Zaireeka-- has anyone ever listened to it as it was meant to be played? I recall achieving that just one time @ a hazy party in the middle of the woods. It took several tries to sync the 4 boom boxes up, but the result was nothing short of mind-blowing. At least that's how I remember it. Maybe we could get a Zaireeka listening group together this August in one of the campgrounds? It would be allsome.
  7. Okay, re-reading the OP, I realize that maybe my first song choice might be a tad obscure for this demographic.New lyric from a new song: "All the dogs on Main Street howl"
  8. Here's mine: "Fame, fame, fatal fame It can play hideous tricks on the brain"
  9. Actually, I didn't even think about Edward McKay's. I haven't been there in a coon's age. Don't even remember where it's at, actually. I had friends that had good success at Chaz' Bull City Records, in Durham too.
  10. Wowza. Probably good that I didn't have the chance to buy it, then.
  11. I was in line early at Schoolkids in Raleigh, NC Picked up: Mule Variations 11th Anniversary REM Chronic Town John Lennon Singles Bag (3x7") Rolling Stones 7" DBTs 7" Wilco 7" w. "Unlikely Japan" (not exclusive to RSD) I could have went nuts, but didn't. I really wanted those VU reissues of Live 1969, but they didn't get any at Schoolkids. Also was hoping to score on the Joy Division, but no dice on that, either. All in all, a pretty good haul for RSD.
  12. That was a good read. Thanks. misslaura!
  13. True. I'll give my local record store plenty of other business on Saturday. I just didn't want to miss out on this one, esp. if it's limited to a grand.
  14. The initial post stated that the pressing was limited to 5,000, but on the RSD webpage, it said 1,000 copies. Are these copies somehow different than the one I just ordered from Nonesuch? I guess we'll find out soon enough.
  15. Bummer that the download doesn't include the extra tracks. I don't have a way to digitize vinyl just yet, and was counting on these nuggets in digital form.
  16. Thank you! Can't wait to download this once I get home.
  17. I had a pretty good list in my head, but decided to sum it up thusly: Everybody on f*ckin' I-40
  18. I'm with you. I much prefer something tangible, and I've never had tix lost in the mail.
  19. I can certainly identify with that. I woke up with a moderate headache. I think I'm slightly dehydrated.
  20. I can imagine Pat winding up his windmill right about now...
  21. Damn, that's some funky keys. Lovin' it! Go MJ!
