  1. Another, somewhat parallel question just occurred to me: Does the inclusion of the album on CD count as two Sound Scan units? It would certainly boost album sales numbers if each sale counted as two.
  2. Thanks. That's enough to pique my interest.
  3. Hey Loretta IT have finally succeeded in cock-blocking FaceBook at work. That's why it takes forever for me to make my allsome Wordscraper plays.
  4. Anyone else love these guys? I've been quite taken w/ them since I caught their South-by performance on DirecTV. Can you describe the Low Anthem? I think they're coming around here soon... Cheers, K
  5. Don't forget to add some Silver Bullets.
  6. You must've been at the show at the Durham Bulls ball park. They really should have cut some folks off! I took a lower-key approach and sat in the stands with my girl to avoid this very kind of unpleasantness. There were a lot of drunk lobsters out there... talk about skin cancer waitin' to happen.
  7. Wow, that's like a time machine... that Archive. Saint G. posted in that thread.
  8. I haven't heard this yet, but will definitely be picking it up very soon. I did pick up "Remember" and love it. It's a live record unlike any other. I listened to it exclusively for about 2 weeks when it came out. It totally mesmerized me, as I'm sure this one will too. Cheers, k
  9. Louie, Was that on the final night of the Residency? I recall Mary and I standing next to you and Maggie and there was some really odd girl that none of us knew that was very stalker-ish. She came out of nowhere.
  10. "Lost" bringing back characters from 1st season from Yahoo!
  11. Just One Request Going to A Concert? Don't Play The Fool. By David Segal Washington Post Staff Writer Tuesday, July 20, 2004; Page C01 Nick Lowe has just finished 90 minutes of solo music at the Birchmere, a set that included all of his best-known songs -- except one. The silver-haired daddy of British pop hasn't played "(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love & Understanding," a track that he wrote and that helped make Elvis Costello famous in the 1970s. So everybody knows what's coming when Lowe returns to the stage for an encore. He strums the opening chords and a ripple of delight roll
  12. Sweet! I have DirecTV and would much rather listen to this than watch some inane reality show. Thanks!
  13. The Consumer Goods section is priceless. Hot New Consumer Products
  14. don’t try to tell me my everlasting love is a lie
  15. No harm at all. If however, you're under a time-table, be it external or internal, it's a gamble. Consider this: if you're able to sell now, while the interest rates are still low, you can buy another property and still lock in a good rate. If you take 9 mos. to sell it yourself and find the interest rates have climbed over that same 9 mos. then the few thousand you saved selling it yourself is really small potatoes compared to the thousands of dollars you could have saved over the life of a loan had you sold it sooner and locked in a good, FIXED rate.
  16. I'm selling mine now, and the idea of doing it all myself was daunting to me. A good broker earns that commission. It's much more than paperwork and an ad. If they're a decent broker there's a much broader marketing campaign involved.
  17. I'm making my way through the entire "Six Feet Under" series from HBO... and was pleasantly surprised to hear "Hell is Chrome" playing in the background on episode 2 of season 5.
  18. That was a good show, Greg! I remember it well. I even have a bona-fide Leroy Bach guitar pick from that show.

  20. It was near the end, but I thought the whole "Jay Bennett" website conversation was pretty funny. See for yourself: http://www.jaybennett.com/
  21. Me, too. I've only heard the song from The Tonight Show, and Wilco (The Song) from Colbert. I still think there are some things that are worth waiting for.
