  1. I was thinking the exact same thing last night, Jen.
  2. I second that! I think I woke up the n'hood when "Dreamer in My Dreams" came on. Really, seriously. Can't wait to hear what they have in store for us tonight!
  3. Leave it to Billboard to not only misspell Chicago, but also completely leave out Pat Sansone in the mention of Autumn Defense. Edit: Okay, I'll forgive the misspelling since they had a fancy drop cap in the link, but not the omission of Sansone. That's just lazy "journalism."
  4. It might have been an old Polaroid Land Camera-- the kind with the wicked long bellows. A view camera would be pretty much useless without a tripod, unless they were somehow able to finagle one inside. Great photos as always, Charles. Kevin
  5. Thanks for the laugh! I've been at shows at the Cat's Cradle before where I just *knew* someone had been to Carrburritos for dinner. Those babies produce a very distinctive flatulence, for sure.
  6. You and me both, brother. I was so happy that it was the number one request... only to be disappointed that it wasn't played. Disappointed sounds so harsh though... we got a wonderful show at DPAC!
  7. I thought that was Leslie Feist. I heart me some PJ. As you were...
  8. Great shot. I concur—focus is overrated. We used to joke about that in photography school, but not all images need to be tack sharp in order to be good.
  9. I'm two degrees from Peyton Manning. My next door neighbor went to college (UNC) with the Colts' center Jeff Saturday. I was able to get a sweet, sweet game-worn jersey through this connection.
  10. This series will be out on DVD and Blu-Ray June 15, just in time for Father's Day. Edit: Forget what I just said. HBO has now retracted that statement, but still hints that it would be released in the second 1/2 of the year.
  11. Quoting Norma Jean White: "Jesse can be three people: He is Jesse, he is Jesco, and he is Elvis. Jesse is the most beautiful man that I could've ever loved. But Jesco, he, - he's somebody else. He's the devil in hisself. Uh, nothing satisfies him - he can't be happy. Nothing you do for him makes him happy."
  12. Gotcha. As I said in my original post, it had been several years since I'd watched the Oscars. I wasn't kidding.
  13. What was the deal with George Clooney? The stare-down between he and Alec Baldwin seemed awkwardly weird to me. Nearly every time the camera was on him, he looked dour and somewhat pissed off. Not sure if the "jokes" that Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin Anyone opened with had anything to do with his mood or not. Did anyone else notice the unhappy Clooney? I haven't watched the Academy Awards in a few years, up until last night. They used to have so many more categories. They used to break down film genres, and had nominations for each category. When did they pare them down to the number we
  14. Very cool! That's the first time I think I've ever seen them perform when they're not standing on that same Persian rug that's been around for ages.
  15. Congratulations! I wish you both the very best for a happy life together!
  16. DPAC! Any of y'all planning on hitting Durham? Great venue, too. I was blown away by how good Leonard Cohen sounded in that room. Nothing short of amazing.
  17. Never thought of it that way. It's kind of a slinky way to say: "We care about you, but not so much about you." Jeff Saturday is anything but expendable, IMHO.
  18. What didn't make sense to me, is if they were going to pull their starters, why did they wait til the 3rd quarter to do so? Then I realized it's because no one gets injured in the first half of the game, that's why. I have to believe that the coaches involved in the decision had solid reasons for what they did. I'm just a fan, after all. If it's good for Peyton Manning to accept the orders given to him, then it should be good enough for me, I suppose.
  19. They weren't playing for a playoff berth, but I felt that Matt Moore sure was playing for something. Looks like Jake might have some serious competition for the starting position, but a lot can happen between now and then. The Giants looked like they never showed up to play. As for the Colts, I'm pissed they pulled their starters. I know that Caldwell keeps repeating the mantra that "it's not about the perfect season" but c'mon, they practically gift-wrapped that game to the Jets. Maybe that's what they needed to happen, to lose now. I'm still rooting for them in the playoffs— I'm not about
  20. I was just looking over a previous post and wondered if the sale was still on. It is. "Even after the holiday, the celebration continues, as we've extended the Anniversary Sale to last through New Year's."
