  1. Thanks! I haven't bought it, but still love the latest release from FF, so I'll just stick until a new FF album comes along.
  2. That was a close game tonight, but glad to see that the Colts are still undefeated. The Jags put up a good fight, though.
  3. I recall a brand called Toasti-Toes. Greg was kind to give me a pair of these on the coldest of the cold days. I remember them distinctly because we pronounced them like "Tostitos." Doesn't matter which brand, Toe Warmers *own* February.
  4. I think it was 5 straight come-from-behind 4th quarter wins. The streak ended with the (non-comeback) win over the Titans on 06-DEC-2009.
  5. Has anyone heard the digital only release: "Take Me Round Again"? from an email: Linky link
  6. BTW: Annick was very helpful for my recent order that arrived damaged.
  7. Shoot. I guess I can "re-cycle" my one from 2009. It's not like I can read anything on the grid, anyway. Here's an interesting fact: Calendars are identical (day and date, not Holidays) every 28 years. So 2009 will be perfectly accurate in 2037.
  8. They're having a 33 1/3% off sale. This includes all the newly minted Wilco vinyl. So if you haven't already bought them from Kungfu, then you might want to pull the trigger on this deal. They're going for $16.65 each, and if you order over $20, shipping is free. Standard shipping is just $2. http://www.nonesuch.com/
  9. Nice photos, Charles! Next time you need an assistant, lemme know.
  10. In other Tom-related news, it looks like they'll be a new track featuring New Orleans' Preservation Hall Jazz Band See below: http://www.twentyfourbit.com/post/223465251/tom-waits-recording-w-nola-s-preservation-hall-jazz Hoo-hah!
  11. +1 This will likely change the next time I hear another Wilco boot.
  12. I'll third. Meeting Louie B. was one of the multitude of highlights from the Residency. Wilco were all kinds of allsome... but being there amoung great people (most I didn't know beforehand) made it nothing short of legendary.
  13. One of my best friends, Mary, lost her mother very suddenly last Thursday. For my Residency Friends, you might very well remember meeting Mary while standing in line or having drinks after those legendary shows. Needless to say, she's devastated. Any prayers, vibes, or general well-wishes for her and her family are most welcome. Thanks, Kevin PS: Call your mothers, fathers, grandparents— anyone you care about today. You just never know.
  14. Brings back some Residency memories! Only you guys looked much warmer! Thanks for sharing, Greg! Cheers, Kevin
  15. Just rec'd this email from the good folks at Kung Fu. Emphasis mine.
  16. For the record, I think BT is perfect. Ever since the Residency, I always hold out hope that they close with "Dreamer in My Dreams."
  17. My earlier point about the sound improvements is that they would be uncompressed (think MP3 quality versus CD quality.) I don't think the goal with every blu-ray release is to make everything fit the 7.1 sound configuration. Rather, whatever the original sound mix given the release would be uncompressed and contain the full spectrum of data on the resulting blu-ray. What we have in the DVD version of IATTBYH is a compressed soundtrack in Dolby 2.0. It is compressed due to the limitations of the media. Some blu-rays (the painstakingly restored Wizard of Oz for example) was originally a Mono
  18. I haven't heard anyone (in this year's blu-ray thread) to mention this: It's not just the picture quality that improves, it's the sound as well. Blu-ray releases take advantage of that extra storage capacity to have uncompressed audio soundtracks. I don't have a home theater 7.1 receiver and all that jazz, so I can't say what the leap from compressed audio to uncompressed audio would sound like in a nice system. There are home-theater enthusiasts out there that really slobber over this kind of thing. Would I like to see a blu-ray release? "Sure." Are my undies all knotted up that they
  19. Love this song. Sure, it rec'd tons of airplay, and rightfully so. Still good, all these years later. Some others that I'm not sure have been mentioned or not, but I'm too lazy to check the entire thread: R.E.M. "Losing My Religion" It was ubiquitous, but I loved it all the same. Smashing Pumpkins "Cherub Rock" Garbage "Only Happy When it Rains" Morrissey "The More You Ignore Me, The Closer I Get" Nick Cave "Red Right Hand" Elastica "2:1" 10,000 Maniacs "These Are Days" Ani Difranco "Outta Me, Onto You", "Superhero" Dylan "Cold Irons Bound"
