  1. To get my roster set up took me at most an hour. It all depends on how much time you want to put into it really. The game is a simulation so really as long as you check up maybe twice a week you're good. I think the main thing is just to be active and not "ghost" your team. At the beginning I'd expect there to be a little more time involved with trades/signings and such but once things get going it'll be pretty straightforward. I believe the commish of the league will be simulating two weeks each Wednesday night so the season should pass by within a couple of months. I'm thinking there
  2. I occasionally play this baseball simulator game called Baseball Mogul where you manage virtually every aspect of a baseball club. I recently decided to join a league. I've never joined one before but I can imagine playing against other humans is somehow slightly better than playing against the computer management. The game is pretty fun on it's own, but I'm hoping it's better this way. Anyways, the league I joined needs to get to a certain number of players before we can get going. We need to fill at least 12 more spots. It should be pretty cool and there are actually some good teams s
  3. They took the good parts of other people's songs and added "The Coldplay Effect" to 'em which could be reinterpreted as "made them boring as shit."
  4. My playlist contains the following tracklist now for "Evil Urges": 1-Evil Urges 2-Touch Me Pt. 1 3-Aluminum Park 4-Sec (Sorry It's Not Walken) Walkin' 5-Look At You 6-Smokin' From Shootin' 7-Touch Me Pt. 2 8-Thank You Too 9-I'm Amazed I've always loved albums that come and go with a bang and since Evil and Amazed are the two I find myself coming back to most often, I figure they're the best end caps.
  5. Someone tell me if I'm wrong but wasn't Another Man Done Gone written by Bragg while Rhythm was a Tweedy/Bennett composition? Edit: Another Man's Done Gone is by Bragg for sure. They do sound kind of similar but there's still a lot of major differences to keep me from declaring it a total rip.
  6. Politely, yet strongly disagree. I know that Satomi's voice can be a huge turn-off, BUT: 1) Listen to the drums, first of all. He's right up there with Glenn in terms of getting the most out of the least when he wants to. 2) The songwriting, musically, is outstanding: some crazy chord progressions and some awesome pop hooks for good measure. I know some people can't get past her voice and I understand that, but to call the rest of them "bad" isn't really a fair statement. That said, the list there is okay.
  7. As much as I want to like every song on this new one, I just don't. This is by far the weakest lyrically MMJ has been IMO. And I don't care how much fun "Highly Suspicious" is live, it makes my cringe.
  8. I love metacritic and generally recognize that anything in the 60's and 70's is totally average to the mainstream, but will probably still please the diehard fans of the band in question. Anything above an 80 should probably be heard by large masses of people. And with the exception of a few tunes on Evil Urges, I'm inclined to say that rating system is right on.
  9. Quite morbid, but after this awful weekend... I had to drive 10 hours to my grandfather's funeral in Arkansas this past weekend. Now, he was quite religious and I have some serious atheist leanings. The ceremony was nice and all, but so long and drawn out (especially the rosary...you'd think they would be able to shorten that juuuust a little). I realized that I want none of that junk at my funeral, but I never got around to which songs I wanted played. I just know I want it to be a celebration of life. The Catholic burial rite is so morbid, sad, and drawn out when, if you believe what
  10. I still haven't made it through 12 Angry Months. The first few songs are pretty poor and I just haven't made the effort to get past them yet. I wanted to get out for a couple of these shows but recent money issues have left me unable to attend any concerts, so...bummer.
  11. As a Blackhawks fan, it's in my blood to hate the Red Wings. As a fan of good hockey and sportsmanship, it's also in my blood to hate Sidney "Watch Me Dive!" Crosby. That said, I'd like to see the Pens win, but I have a feeling they're just no match for Detroit on this one.
  12. Man the I'm Always In Love from night 2 sounds ROUGH. Nels' guitar work is really really annoying during the verses. I can't tell if it's intentional or the guitar is just outta tune, but ouch. I've been trying to capture the stream on these, but the second half of the second night has skipped a few times. I'll have to try again tomorrow maybe.
  13. I dunno, I've always found myself able (and even willing) to throw away at least half of each album. I feel like there's a great EP buried in every album, and it is a REALLY great EP. But I've never been thrilled with an album straight through. The closest are Odelay and Sea Change where I find myself skipping maybe 2 or 3 songs at most. I'm still highly anticipating this release though.
  14. Not quite the porno thread I was expecting.
  15. My dad and step mom love the Bodeans. I've never understood the attraction: their songwriting is totally average. I've been told by my dad that they're spectacular live and this is from a guy who says the same about Wilco so...yeah. I'm not sold on 'em though.
  16. Thanks for clearing that up. There aren't many more one-dimensional artists than those mentioned in this thread.
  17. Yeah, if this was part of the deal I'd go. But as it stands, her music is pretty rough.
  18. Consider that one used by yours truly. Great name.
  19. Yeah, they were bonuses on the CD. They were actually a separate EP released after they were dropped from their label. The songs both actually refer to the dude at the label who sealed their fate.
  20. Both albums are just outstanding. If I had the cash, I'd be ponying it up for those bad boys in a heart beat. I'm still 100% certain that Spoon has the most consistent catalog of any band making music today.
  21. Well, Hillary Clinton did endorse Eight Belles, so is anyone really surprised? On a darker note, I really hate that this kind of thing happens, but I share a love for horse racing that I know many others feel. I'm torn because this stuff really is upsetting.
  22. So, I gotta admit to not having any desire to see any comic book movies...ever. The last one I saw was Batman (was it 1989?) with Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson in it. Since I'm generally less than enthusiastic about Hollywood's adaptations of ANY alternate media into a movie these days, I've avoided this recent "comic book craze." Tonight that ended and I'm wishing it didn't. That's not to say Iron Man was bad: it was just outrageously mediocre. Great acting by RDJ and crew and outstanding CGI and special effects saved what was otherwise a stale, predictable Hollywood script that c
