  1. I am afraid so. Outside of Minnesota, does anyone really know the Gear Daddies. Hell, I lived there for 10 years, seen the Gear Daddies a bunch of times, but I am hard pressed to remember one of their albums.
  2. Damn spelling thing! I think invited works too.
  3. Grievous Angel or G.P. by Gram Parsons, anyone? He invited this alt-country thing. The list is silly.
  4. The leak is in the usual places, and I think is is much better then the Forgotten Arm, no story line, but a solid effort.
  5. I concur; however can you really call Jenny an actress? She hasn't really acted in anything since 2000. Really by that logic, you'd have to put in Alanis Morissette in there. And do we really want to go down that road.
  6. i am the only won who is totally in love with this album? Zooey's voice, M's production. This is one of my fav albums this year (so far). BTW I really don't like M. Ward (as Solace well knows).
  7. I totally was gonna hate on P&B, but after seeing that video, awesome.
  8. Drinking on Your Dime - Jay Bennett and Edward Burch
  9. Steve McQueen Ate My Sandwich All Knight
  10. any song over 4 minutes is just away of the musician(s) to wank off.
  11. The question is are people hating or defending her based upon how she looks or who she is. IMHO the stuff I have heard/seen is awful. Not the vocals but the production. Plus what a pretentious project. Tom Waits? Anyone does an album of Tom Waits covers is trying to show how cool they are.
  12. M. Ward is overrated and will be forgotten about in 5 years time. The recent releases by the following artists have been given good reviews/praise not for the actual music but who they once where: Bob Dylan REM The Rolling Stones Bruce Springsteen U2 Tom Waits
  13. meh. Yeah he kinda sounds like Elliott, but is now where near the talent that he was. I'd be interested in hearing the full album though.
  14. I heard the title track within an article on Stereogum. In short it is pretty bad. Vocally ScarJo does an ok job, but the production is terrible. The drums are way to techno, and the guitar sounded tinny. This is pretty much the opposite of the She and Him album.
  15. I make mixes for my son (who is nearly 4) every couple of months. Here is the latest: Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da The Beatles I'm Dancing In The Show Tonight Ween Hoodoo Voodoo Billy Bragg & Wilco Vega-Tables Brian Wilson Crocodile Rock Elton John Guanacoa Esquivel Soda Pop G. Love and Special Sauce 3 R`s Jack Johnson Busted Bicycle Leo Kottke Hello Hello Mono Puff Why Does The Sun Shine? They Might Be Giants Reach For The Sun (Section 9) The Polyphonic Spre
  16. That might actually be a good thing.
  17. I am prolly in the minority but I think less M Ward is a good thing.
  18. That is a damn shame. Cool idea, I got to play around with it some more. Don't know if I real care for the interface.
  19. Jay is so awesome in this video.
  20. exactly. Separate Ways (his latest) is a snore beyond belief.
  21. as opposed to gay rock music?
  22. In an article I read about Andrew Bird said he was a nervous flyer as well. He wrote the song "Fiery Crash" about him flying, and his superstitions. According to him and the song, they way he gets over flying is imagining the plane going down in a horrible fiery crash, thus negating that it would actually happen. It is a crazy way of doing things, but since I heard that it is the last song I listen to before I get on a plane, and yes I imaging the plane going down. But I am not a really a nervous flyer. I also tend to watch the first a couple of episodes of Lost, and movies about airpl
  23. I personally like this in way of Garfield. Lasagna Cat
