I remember having front row seats for the last time at this venue and then the crowd rushing the stage two minutes into the first number, leaving us two rows back! Bloody Berliners... -
Wilco - 3 November, Oslo, Norway (Sentrum Scene)

Yeh us Europeans are too busy dealing with Brexit, a falling pound sterling and a strategy to blow up Trump's golf courses to write crap about cosseted rock stars... I did actually mean to write up a few lines about the first three shows I saw on the tour, but was enjoying the music and the company too much. Plus trying to write reviews on an iPhone via shitty wi-fi is less than desirable. So for the record: Brussels nite #1 - brilliant - hardly any banter. Watch the show on You Tube. It's brilliant. Brussels nite#2 - brilliant - slightly different set list - hardly any banter apart fr -

Drowned In Sound - 'Down with the Kids'

It's a 'young persons' slang thang... -
This discussion board topic started yesterday on UK based Drowned in Sound: 'Are there any good songs by Wilco?': http://drownedinsound.com/community/boards/music/4478296 Kids, eh?

Lucinda Fucking Williams added to the bill of the Dublin Show on 10th July. Competition time: which song would you like to see her sing with Wilco that night? Nul points for 'You and I'...

You're wish has been granted - 2nd night in Brussels is now on sale...
-
Yes - especially since Brussels is first show. My contacts on the ground there tell me the sale this morning is almost completely gone, so a second show (like they did last time) is highly likely. I'm hanging out for an Irish show or two too - hopefully two nights at Vicar Street. Scotland? nah it's full o' folk just waiting for a rammy...

Is that a euphemism for kinky sex?

Ahh sounds a bit curmudgeonly to me! You'll be in good company

Give's you plenty of time to plan your trip...

GOOD NEWS: Some European dates starting to surface for on sale at the end of this week. BAD NEWS: They're not until NOVEMBER 2016 FFS!!!!
-
It's already OVER THREE YEARS since they last toured Euroland. I suspect that'll be four years once the actual dates come around, as it's normally either February or May then November for Euro tour slots. "Down with this sort of thing".

Shortest Distance/Longest distance for a Wilco/Jeff show?
50footqueenie replied to remphish1's topic in Just A Fan
60 miles to see them at Barrowlands and GRCH in Glasgow. c.3,250 miles to see them at Solid Sound 2013. (And we didn't come the furthest that year...) -
Hello peeps und Meister bboppen! Yes good show - but I thought it lacked a little atmosphere and the usual Glasgow 'weegieness' banter (though thankfully all of the bloodshed). I think there could have been as little as 800 souls there actually - which were a little lost in the cavern of the GRCH. JT is obviously getting to grips with the twitteratti - he referred again to the numerous waltz tempos on the Tweedy album as being '#waltzwave' - though frankly I think polkas will be the next big thing, after the Boston two step (which is the national dance of Shetland - but you knew that Paul

'Twas indeed a fine night of musical performance and banter. A good venue with good vibes. Some of the audience were a bit grumpy, especially that German women who got into bother at the Cologne show, but otherwise well behaved. I might have enjoyed it too. The post show bar next door was open deceptively late though. Shocking. Not sure I can go back to Belgium if that's how late they keep you up to.

OK that was me. Still working on my rendition of VC. If I can only transpose it into B flat for the great highland pipes...

Who knew clan Tweedy was celtic? But hey everyone wants to be Scottish these days! We're sexy muthas! http://www.celticconnections.com/events/Pages/event.aspx?ev=7e968b87-eb42-4d2c-9946-a3c000f1f669 Tickets on sale now...
