  1. A certain drummer told me 'Dublin, March' after a certain gig in Tilburg recently. But what would he know?
  2. Always beware French truck stops! Just when I thought Paul was bailing out of intense touring, I congratulate him in his determination to get from the north of Germany to Switzerland to report for us. See you in Berlin sir!
  3. Yes we are going - you can book tickets via FNAC and collect at various outlets in Paris I believe, thus saving the extortio shipping costs. At least that's how I've done it...!
  4. As a purveyor of all things fine and Scottish, I would like to make it clear that ne'er a drop from a bottle of 'buckie' has passed my lips in 49 years. I have the same response these days to Tennant's lager, but unfortunately cannot appear to be so devine about the consumption of it!! I ain't so pure about international drinking, but am surely looking forward to some fine helles, dunkels, etc in Deutschland next weekend - hooooorah!
  5. It actually came about after Jeff saw a Scots guy (yes I confess, it was I) shaking his head furiously when he said that Spain was the only country that 'got' Wilco. We then had an exchange of banter that included the words 'rammy' and 'broken nose'. This may continue in Berlin in a week's time...
  6. Can't see this on Facebook - would you like to share more info? Yes GK is a drumming god and a nice man to boot!
  7. I love this literal translation courtesy of google translator - 'the huge Glenn Kotche' - from El Pais: "Dress me slowly that I have haste, seemed to think Jeff Tweedy when he began to whisper the first few bars of "One Sunday Morning ', a slow-song acoustic tone river, ten minutes long, which served as a preamble for a night of intimate high voltage . Wilco on Tuesday began its Spanish tour with a memorable concert in Madrid that satisfies the high expectations raised by the U.S. group (the nearly 2,000 entries from the Teatro Circo Price had been exhausted for months). All facets that ha
  8. After spending Halloween in Madrid (see Mikael's photo on Wilco Facebook) and being surrounded by partying witches, warlocks and lots of zombies, it came as a surprise that los Madrilenos had any energy left from the night before to party - oh but they did! The Teatro Circo Price is a great venue (what is it about Wilco and circus venues? - three on this tour alone) with a flat floor in the centre and seating wrapped right round to a tight thrust stage (Jeff at one point: hey! that guy's on stage with us!) The sound up front was a little muddy though, but otherwise it was a great show. With a
  9. I think thou misseth the point: Scotland, especially the west of the country and particularly Glasgow, isn't particularly noted for its religious tolerance, or as we found out this week, when a guy was murdered in Ayshire, for its tolerance towards homosexuality. However if you don't want Mr Tweedy back, then we'll happily let him stay!
  10. Residing in the Borders as I do, I should know it was indeed 'Tweedsdale' - doh! I meant to add comment on the support act Jonathan Wilson. I heard his album online a while back and thought it a bit too Laurel Canyon insipid to make me want to examine further, but live he was more interesting and has a reasonable band behind him. Once he took up lead guitar for the final couple of tracks, it got very interesting indeed - in a very Dave Gilmour / Floyd kind of way. We'll see over the coming shows if this becomes of more interest to Queeniears, but I'd suggest it's worth your while turning
  11. Nothing to do with me - and I think you'll find my profile pictures online are strictly for my web porn ID! From where Mrs Queenie and I were sitting, it looked there were about 8 people involved in the punch up, but I could be wrong. Nothing like a quiet Monday night in Glasgow...
  12. Well after much chasing, I finally received our London tickets last weekend. As a coda to this topic - I booked for both Brussels shows next March directly with the venue. For the sum of three euros booking fee and admin charges I received both sets of tickets promptly within a week...
  13. According to my notes (tip of the day - don't write in pencil in the dark, it takes hours to decipher!) the full set list was: One Sunday Morning Poor Places Art of Almost I Might IATTBYH One Wing Black Bull Nova You Are My Face Rising Red Lung ( Restarted after 'the fight') Impossible Germany Handshake Drugs Standing O Jesus, Etc Born Alone War On War Dawned On Me Shot In The Arm Encore: Whole Love California Stars Heavy Metal Drummer I'm The Man Who Loves You Misunderstood I enjoyed the show but thought 'the standing v sitting argument' was totally lost - the audie
  14. I sent a chasing email on Friday re my London tix and got a terse 'we'll let you know when they leave the building message' in reply. I've just checked my mail and they've only just confirmed one order (for one night of the two) is now in the post, but it's poor fair. Definitely the last time I purchase through Sandbag.
  15. Wow - that was quick to sell out - I see Oslo has also! Thanks for the heads up though - I got tix for the 2nd night too!
  16. If you look closely at your ticket email, it states that tickets will be sent two weeks before the show. I'm still waiting on mine for both London shows, but I seem to remember that they came about two weeks out from the Glasgow show last year, so not panicking yet. The problem is that the fan club allocation goes through Seetickets, who are rubbish at supplying tickets, so your beef, if you have one, is probably going to be with them. If they don't start turning up by the start of next week, then we should have a concerted effort to give em hell. At the end of the day we have paid to get
  17. Thank you for that sir! Will be poised by the keyboard at 10am GMT on Tuesday! Got our tix this morning for Paris, so that weekend is shaping up nicely - lets hope for more gig announcements between these two shows...
  18. More dates now on Wilcoworld - including Copenhagen. I would imagine a return to Amsterdam is also on the cards, no? They are also reportedly due to announce Dublin soon... Samuel - what's the best agency for Brussels tix? Cheers!
  19. When do they announce the new chart? Here in the UK it has entered the chart at No 30.
  20. I got tickets OK from Scotland and they didn't charge an arm and three legs to send out those tix to me either (PLEASE take note Eventim.de!!!) I would try telephoning them to see what other options are available - perhaps a bank money transfer or do they use paypal? I note also I couldn't print out tickets for that show - but could for the Tilburg show the next night... bizarre. I think the venue website will just link you back to TM.nl anyway, though I could be wrong, but you could try putting it through a good on line translator. Good luck!
  21. I spent many hours yesterday trying to get a whiff of where to buy for Barcelona and eventually mailed the venue box office to be told that their autumn season was not yet on sale and to keep checking their site - no rush then...
  22. Madrid is also now on sale via Entradas.com - got standing tix this morning. Still trying to see where Barcelona and Donostia might be available from - anybody pleeeeezz?
  23. Yup - just secured seats for Berlin via that very email!!
  24. Phew! - have got tickets for both nights in London and hopefully Glasgow. Nice to see that Sandbag are now telling you what seats they actually have in reserved seating areas. Now just Spain to crack on Friday...
  25. Anyone any info on getting tickets for the Spanish shows? I believe it's a Ticketmaster free zone.
