  1. Fuck, I don't like Rush AND I went to college.
  2. Let's all hop on the Indians bandwagon. 23rd highest payroll, lots' o' sluggers, what's not to like?
  3. Hope it's a great one! Post an mp3 or 2 in celebration!
  4. Happy B-day and enjoy all the rock and roll in the coming week!
  5. Wow, not easy to make a Dylan classic sound better than the original.
  6. I noticed on my drive into work today that P. Hood has become my new go-to guy for music recommendations. In the mid 80's and early 90's, I couldn't get enough of REM. Along those lines, everything that Peter Buck touched was absolute gold in my eyes. He turned me on to some of the best music that I STILL listen to today - Replacements - "Let it Be" was the start of them becoming one of my favorite bands. Uncle Tupelo "March" led to me becoming a huge Uncle Tupelo, Son Volt, Wilco fan. He also turned me to Vigilantes of Love and a few others that I still listening to these days. Patters
  7. I respect you but that's not true. Chicago does have the best pizza. I can either go for pepperoni and mushroom or ham and pineapple. Tomatoes and garlic is another option.
  8. They did this at the last Lounge Ax show way back when. Twas awesome. * Note that they were technically Minus5 but it was Wilco.
  9. Absolutely... I like the Snider, Avett Brothers suggestions in particular. I think Marah would be an absolute home run as an opener. Those guys have way too small a fanbase with their talent level.
  10. First, great schedule for work. Second, I would recommend Schubas for live music as well as a "bar that has Wilco on the jukebox". schubas
  11. Exile on Mainstreet is not overpraised. Not even worth discussing.
  12. I really like it. It's my favorite since "Transcendental Blues". I have listened to it about 5 times through and it's very catchy. I recommend it.
  13. bump....after a couple listens, the album is very solid. I still don't put it in the class with their last "For What I Don't Become" but highly recommend. Again, it's free.
  14. Very exciting news. Looking forward to it. I have to think that there is some pressure on them to put out a great album after Jason's departure....even if it's self-induced. I was always more in the Cooley/Hood camp but their best albums (consistency-wise) were with Jason in my opinion. Either way...looking forward to hearing it.
  15. Big Vibes Kevin & Peel. I'm going through some similar things with my Grandmother. She is slowly deteriorating and it's very difficult to watch the family matriarch physically fall apart. She's not able to make family gatherings and has a permanent nurse. My family stopped over there yesterday to see her for what we hope isn't the last time. Very tough stuff.
  16. Absolutely see him. I was trying to win this Studio X visit as well. Steve is excellent and these intimate performances are absolutely outstanding. His new album is definitely worth picking up as well.Great venue, great performer, intimate environment... where's the downfall?Absolutely see him. I was trying to win this Studio X visit as well. 17. True - You can no longer get Bell's in Illinois, however, it may be back in the near future. That said, you can get a TON of good beer in Chicago. I'd avoid import beers myself (typically do). You can get any number of great beers in Chicago land area. Binny's Beverage is a great option that is available to Chicagoland area. However if you are in the city Lakeview Liquors on Addison and Leavitt is another great option. Some choices: Great Lakes - everything they make is good Capital Brewery LeftHand Brew Three Floyds Victory You get your pal any of this stuff and he'll love it. Lea
  18. I actually thought it was pretty decent as far as lists go.
  19. Yea, I picked it up this evening without a flaw and it sounds great . After you download it, go out and buy "For What I Don't Become". It's phenomenal and these guys deserve a wider audience. They will be touring with Grand Champeen and the Drams in the near future.
  20. Completely agree. The last album these guys put out is one of my favorite albums of the last couple of years. This free download is a real gift. Go 'n get it!
  21. gotcha... I haven't had to do any of that stuff as of yet. Makes sense... thanks gang. PS: I saw Natalie's butt.
