  1. they are fairly new... I'm trying to talk him into getting a bit more aggressive about playing in the city. If he does, i'll certainly post it...
  2. my little brother is a talented little musician. He has a new project that is definitely worth listening to. Great originals and a nice Dylan cover. I'm not one to shamelessly plug but I had to throw this out there. I'm not a big fan of the name but the songs aren't bad...
  3. what you once were isn't what you want to be anymore
  4. I picked up the ep last night. "3 dimes down" and "righteous path" are up there with their best. I love 'em. Need to spend more time with the songs but REALLY looking forward to the full release.
  5. Brilliant... I couldn't get through the original post but you appear to have summarized nicely. Nice work, Kevin.

I really find it hard to believe at 10:01am all 5 shows are sold out.
  7. Stereo: "Baby learns to crawl Watching daddy's skin Learns to fall Get up again Baby learns to cry Watching mama's smile in the mirror Can you hear her" Mono:" From a distance you look peaceful And so far away up close"
  8. Hope you have a great one, Scott. Thanks to a recent trip to Indiana, I'll be having at least a couple of these in your honor tonight:
  9. It's actually quite good...as far as Holiday albums go.
  10. 12/29 Cambridge, Ma / TT the Bears / 12am With Thalia Zedek - Benefit For Jeanne Sheehy http://www.ttthebears.com/ 1/25 Washington DC / Black Cat / 9 pm www.blackcatdc.com 1/26 New York City / Joe's Pub / 7 pm www.joespub.com 2/1 Minneapolis, MN / Seventh Street Entry http://www.first-avenue.com/ 2/2 Chicago, IL / Double Door http://www.doubledoor.com/
  11. I saw him open for Son Volt when he first started touring and departed from DBT. My schedule hasn't worked out to see him again in Chicago but I may try and catch that Double Door show this time around. It'd be interesting to see how far he's come along as a 'lead man' since he's been touring so much. How is Will Hoge? I haven't heard note one from him but he's had some damn fine acts open for him..
  12. My favorite albums of the year: Wilco - SBS Steve Earle - Washington Serenade Spoon - GaGaGa etc. Son Volt - The Search Ryan Adams - Easy Tiger (biggest shock for me) Peter Case - Let Us now Praise Sleepy John Jason Isbell - Sirens of the Ditch Glossary - Better Angels of our Nature (freeist album as well:-)) Dr. Dog - We all Belong The Dexateens - Hardwire Healing Avett Brothers - Emotionalism Honorable mention - Bettye Lavette, Buffalo Tom & I'm Not There soundtrack (not enough listens on that last one)
  13. Good bet...Chris produced the album so I'm guessing it's him
  14. Along the same lines.... "Well you got your father's hair and you got your father's nose but you got my soul" completely agree that this is a gold star thread. I'm not a fan-boy to many but Westerberg is brilliant. Lyrically, I don't think anyone can touch him.
  15. Were you able to see Glossary?
  16. I loved the video for the documentary along with the song...great stuff.
  17. A friend of mine and I took a drive to Indiana to purchase an extensive amount of Bell's beer to enjoy over the next month or so...
  18. I absolutely like it... it's difficult for me to get into music that is stuck inside the computer but I'm looking forward to the upcoming release. Love the EP, love the stream.... Thus far, the only Marah album that has disappointed me is "Float Away". Unfortunately, I really think they missed an opportunity to take themselves to another level momentum-wise. At any rate, as Solace pointed out, seeing them live will absolutely land you as a fan.
  19. Hope it's a damn fine one young(ish) man.
  20. Thanks. I was wondering at which age you just turn into a lame pumpkin...37 evidently. I only have a handful of months left in me. Now, I need to go figure out if I can watch that Strummer doc on In Demand.... Enjoy!
  21. happy b-day Sean.. you ever head to Chicago I'll buy you a gigantic beer to recognize this special, special day.
