  1. I had fun while I was there, and got a good education. But I wasn't really part of a group and haven't really stayed in touch other than a little bit of FB. I'm much closer to my high school friends.
  2. My husband will put down $175 for The Allman Bros at the Beacon, and that's with ticketmaster. I think the prices are crazy and call it the ABB retirement plan.
  3. Haha! But, no. I'm married to the guy who was my boyfriend then. And since he went to a different school, I was pretty much a nun.
  4. Really? I used to regularly go to a place called Coochie's? I guess my recollection of those years is pretty hazy as well.
  5. I've got a few of those ticket albums. It's a drag to fold up a printout then slide it in the plastic.
  6. I doubt I wowed him, but he wowed me. It would be my dream job. Teaching art at the high school level (my certification area anyway), plus international travel to recruit students.
  7. I was more of a Bacchus girl than a P&G's. What was the place with the alley entrance right next to the pizza place on the corner? I used to go there too, mostly because they had good music and let me in even when I was underage. One time, some stupid drunk chick sprayed her mace inside P&G's. I hated that place.
  8. I had a quasi interview for a job that I really want today.
  9. So....Neil Degrasse Tyson is.......wrong?
  10. Any back issue of High Times circa 1990 will have The Pink House in top 100 or 50 or whatever it is they have on the last page. It's possible I haven't looked at a High Times since. I drove through town a few years back but didn't stop. I'll have to this time.
  11. I've never had a problem either, but if you want to be on the safe side, get there early, pick up your ticket before there's a line, then go get a bite to eat and a drink.
  12. It was great. I need to see it again.
  13. In my life, I've been lucky enough to feel two minor earthquakes. Nature is one strange and beautiful force.
  14. I'm going tonight and it's kind of ridiculous how much I'm looking forward to it. I love everything Wes Anderson has done. Some more than others.
  15. Really?! Class of 91 here. I lived in the yellow house next to the Pink House.
  16. I went to New Paltz. It's going to be like a homecoming.
  17. That lineup for the Ottawa Blues fest is the craziest.
  18. "They are also a band that evokes the Grateful Dead with indulging in the worst hippy-bullshit that that name conjures." Do you think he meant to say "without?"
  19. I would be going down tomorrow. I would've been happy to go without Gregg, but it would've have felt to me like the allman brothers, not The Last Beacon Run Of The Allman Brothers. Does that make sense? I'm glad for now I'm holding on to a face value ticket for the last night; we'll see where they go from here. I would not be happy if I paid more than face right now.
  20. I promise I will go as soon as it opens near me.
  21. Well, at least the better musicians aren't sick. If Gregg doesn't play the rest of the shows, I think they should offer refunds, but keep the shows. People travel a long way and may not be able to easily reschedule; and the cost to reschedule for the band would be outrageous. Not to mention, if Gregg is bad now, there's no guarantee that he'll be any better in the future. I think I was able to arrange a trade, so I'm fairly certain I'm going on Wednesday.
  22. I cannot figure out why there isn't direct highway between Hartford and Providence.
  23. I've got my folks to watch the kids for the weekend, so it is just my husband and myself, no one else we hang around with are going. We lucked out with a room at the Admiral Fitzroy right in town. It's too far for us to go back and forth. We'd love to meet up.
