I live with kids' screams and dogs barking. No need to shell out hard earned $$$ for that.

Not exactly out or about, but just played "WILCO" in Words with Friends and it was valid! Only 26 points, but still....

I had to look up PITA in the Urban Dictionary. How sad is that? I used to live in Beacon Hill ( the dodgy side ), it was great to leave the car and walk everywhere all weekend.

That's the place. Aquataine is great too, terrific brunch there. Is the Delux Cafe still there?

Bunker Hill and the USS Constitution is a nice little stop, the walk across to Charlestown is nice, the sights interesting, and the Charlestown is an interesting neighborhood. I enjoy the Union Oyster House, it is a tourist trap, but a good one. There are some lesser known old taverns around there too, Mikes is the best known pastry shop in the North End, but I prefer Maria's. I love love love The Franklin in the South End for dinner. Not as "hot" as it was 10 years ago, but that's better because there isn't as much of a wait. Great food, not expensive, no reservations. No sign outsi

I pretty much feel that they broke up in the late seventies, so I'm not familiar with those. Donald Fagan's solo stuff is ok

Steely Dan?

Don't buy cheap paint. Benjamin Moore is always a solid choice. I actually really like the Ben Moore brushes too. They are kind of pricy too but I'm on my 6th or so project with the same brush.

Wilco to return to MASSMoCA for Solid Sound #2
RaspberryJam replied to kcortez's topic in Just A Fan
Hi Ana, Great! Solid Sound last year was so great, and western Massachusetts can be so beautiful in the spring. I can't help you with camping, but i can with other travel arrangements. I will say, if you are camping, stock up on bug spray. June can be pretty buggy. The closest airports are Albany, NY and Hartford, CT. There may be one nonstop to Hartford from LA, American I think? Maybe not, routes change often. Both support major carriers and they are about 1 hour and 1 1/2, respectively. Both have Southwest and JetBlue if you want to look at discount carriers. After that, Boston a -
Wilco to return to MASSMoCA for Solid Sound #2

I got the 2nd-to-last room at Blackington Manor. We stayed there last year, it's perfectly fine. The owners are slow talkers but the breakfast is yummy. They hooked us up with restaurant owner friends and they let us park right near Mass MOCA with no problems at all. -

I just talked to the Bowery ticket office. According to them, no more tickets will be released, done and done. *heavy sigh*

Last year (2 years ago?) I saw Jeff Tweedy in Burlington VT. It was a standing, nightclub type place and I would not have wanted to bring my kids. It was great for me, but the crowd was a little rowdy (in a good way) and it was hard enough for me to see anything other than shoulders and backs. The next night in Northampton, MA was in a sit down theater type place and it would have been much better. Although for me and my kids, we all have a better time if they are home with a babysitter or their grandparents! So, yeah. It depends.

We maintain a very strict no-fake tree zone in our house. I read that the carbon footprint is about the same with either, and I can feel good about buying it from my friendly local tree farmer. And it smells great! And each year they look slightly different! I could go on and on.

Internet Radio Station Suggestions?
RaspberryJam replied to RaspberryJam's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Thanks and thanks!! -
I just pulled the trigger and got the Apple TV. I will say, quite a useful gadget for -$100! Anyways, when I pull up the radio stations, there are tons!!! Since my taste runs similar to most here, I figured this was a good place to start. Any recommendations are appreciated. Thanks!

I have known cats named for both!

Hi, I figured I'd throw my desire to go into the mix as well. My husband and myself are long time fans who got shut out as well. We promise to: Cheer moderately only at appropriate times Not talk during music Not get sloppy drunk Not push our way to the front Not yell out song requests We would also: Buy you beers Buy you dinner Buy you more beers

HAHA. Suck it, scalpers. I have a massive case of schadenfreude right now.

Nothing for Bowery.

I was able to put 2 in my cart, typed in the security code, and it came back not available. Buzzkill!

None for me.

I love the Bowery Ballroom, I saw a private show with Moby there a few years ago. Unfortunately, hotel rooms in NY on December weekends are outrageous. Just for kicks I looked at all Hiltons (points) and $400+ a night for a nondescript Doubletree? I'm not so sure I can do this and still have Santa visit this year. Sorry kids! Christmas is cancelled because Mom and Dad wanted to see Jeff Tweedy.
