What kind of gas mileage were/are you getting and on what Subaru? We have a Forester and get about 30 mph, which I'm satisfied with. Our Camry is also incredibly reliable and efficient. Geez Louie, vibes on the stolen car.

Bummer on the voice. Hope he's okay and can pull off these last two shows before going Down Under.

Ah, very nice. Thanks for doing that. Greg, I see me next to you! well, my elbows, at least....

His comment about being lucky that he didn't have to cut anyone out of his life was an eye-opener for me--I had never considered that part of the struggle with addiction. I can't even imagine how much better things are for him and his family now.

I just went and looked at the piece; he wasn't writing at all.

My dog, RIP.

How did you come by your VC Handle?
H.Stone replied to bigshoulders's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
"I'm this apple, this happening stone when I'm alone." Those were the lyrics that stood out to me most at the time I registered at VC. Had I known I'd actually make friends with people in "real life", I would have used my first name. I'll change to that eventually, I suppose. I do still love that lyric, though. -
A. ...it's immune to any sort of... B. Literary criticism? Your response of "i was expecting a much more articulate and flowing article than that" being branded literary criticism is an overstatement of cosmic proportions, at best. The suggestion, I think, is that your response contained a significant amount of "dickitude" considering it was simply JT sharing his experiences with migraines, anxiety, and addiction. He created a piece of expository writing in order to share his experiences; he wasn't writing to impress anyone with his composition skills or literary prowess.

Yeah, it's not looking good for me either.

HA! Love the picture...

A Disco Nap.... I like it. I'm going to have to try to pull such a thing off or miss the show. I'm not going to be able to stay up until 1/1:30am.

The webcast via WilcoWorld says 11pm CST, so I'm guessing that is indeed when they'll take the stage.

Dear KC, I will indeed supply Jen with a cheesehead, cheese log, and possibly even a Brett Favre jersey. Please bring Rock of Love DVDs. kthxbai, Me

I Got Pants (At The End of the Century) Can't Pants it Muzzle of Pants

I'm in! I'll be bringing VW (or godsmoney now, or whatnot...) and the cheese log.

"You must have mis-heard." "I don't know what that means. Do they still do that?"
-
Yeah, my post count is on steroids on streaming nights.

We wouldn't have it any other way! (Wait, we did more of this together at the shows!)
-
Thanks for those shots--they're nice (save the SNL plug on the two).
-
Yeah, I know what you're talking about but I have no idea where to get one.

I bet we could chart potential reactions to various wardrobe choices... perhaps even add it to WilcoBase. Such a project would probably require numerous face-to-face gatherings, though. And lots of comfort food. And beer.

10 pm CST? Crap. Thurs is going to suck.... (because clearly not listening to the stream isn't an option)

Yeah, hair product apparently flowed like wine backstage. If "virgin" watchers came to the conclusion that JT is a pissy artist because he wore the Nudie suit, they weren't really virgins. That suit doesn't excude "pissy" if you've never heard of UT, JT, or Wilco. Lame, quirky, bizarre, or even retarded (as my BIL said), but not pissy.

Non-Wilco fans in the live and viewing audiences are certainly not going to feel for them what most of us feel for them based on the SNL performances. But I suspect they chose their songs based on what they really like to play together and feel is a good snapshot of the band. And am I the only one who believes Tweedy actually digs that suit? No "nudge, nudge, wink, wink" intended when he wears it? I dig it.
