  1. Oh man, I'm so impressed with your dedication! I know I'll be awful about "training." You must be so proud of your progress!
  2. I've meant to ask those in attendance, how is Tweedy's voice (in relation to how he struggled the last few shows in the US)?
  3. You're probably right on the mental thing. But I would love to find teammates since I have a totally crappy bike, too. KC, wanna swim? Any bikers out there? I'm all about the run. I'm not fast, but I'm steady.
  4. Totally understandable! We swim in my parents' pond, and I've been nibbled by fish before. FREAKY SHIT!
  5. "swim angels"--good to know. So Fick, you're coming out for this for sure? And Kate, you're registered? I just don't know about the swimming part.
  6. I think it's man-made--and hopefully not stocked with fish!
  7. What a generous first post. Thanks for the info.
  8. OMC, your photo editing on that picture is priceless. (And you do look adorable.)
  9. Try priceline.com and name your own price. We got our hotel for the residency for $60/night, downtown Chicago.
  10. Because, truly, Ticketmaster sucks. I think you're right--Will Call is the way to combat the ticket issues. If more venues went to it, I'm sure they could find an efficient way of handling ticket pick up before doors (vs. waiting in line for doors, then waiting in line for will call once inside).
  11. Yeah, just saw Bozeman is sold out, and there don't appear to be tickets available for St. Louis, either.
  12. Imagine the fines around here if there was.
  13. Heard Impossible Germany while walking through Sears last night.
  14. Very cool! I'm impressed you still have that after 13 years.
  15. Dang, I wish the Love Police took care of presale in the States...
  16. Who's picking on A-man?!
  17. BRING LINE CHARADES TO AUSTRALIA!!
  18. Exactly. Missing presale doesn't mean missing tickets, and it's always good to be reminded that it's only 10% or so of the venue.
  19. Considering it's JTs old stomping grounds and the first time they've been to STL in a long time, I'd plan on pre-sale selling out in minutes, if that. Music Today only has about 10% of the tickets for presale, which is about 200 for this show. 100 pairs, or 50 sets of 4 tickets? Those will be gone in a snap.
  20. No, I'm not sure. I'm hoping it will be like the SPongeBob tune that you could purchase by itself, but with MMJ, New Pornos, DCFC, etc., I'll probably just shell out $10 for the whole thing.
  21. A kindred spirit.... Settled Down has an effect on me that can't be explained--my pulse speeds up just thinking about it. And in Clouds, the break into, "Every time that I see your face..." I remember hearing that song live before the album was released, and during every show after I'd be chanting "cool cool water" in my head, hoping to hear it again. I love, love, love (love, love, love--WORD POWER!) the Jayhawks. I'm not a huge M. Olson solo fan, but he and Gary together are sublime. HTH and TTGG rank 1 and 2 for me, and after that I can't rank complete albums--just various songs/
  22. You? I plan on, at the very least, spending a buck on iTunes for that track. If you want to get it free, I'm sure there are many ways to "acquire" it. But I can't imagine you'll find a direct link to it on the band's message board.
  23. I'm considering it although haven't talked to Rob yet. (Clearly he's game for anything, though. ) It's really the only one we could manage on this spring leg since so many are week days and far, far away.
