Suggestions for a new acoustic
jmacomber68w replied to BigWheeledWagon's topic in Solid State Technology
This is what I would recommend, I own a taylor and love her. A bit out of your range, but preowned maybe? http://taylorguitars.com/Guitars/100-200/200/210e/ If you live in the New England area I highly recommend Daddys.com for used gear -
This is the most truthful thing ever said on ViaChicago!

Normally these give-a-ways suck, this is great! My internet is a bit slow so I can't really browse too well, but your site looks pretty awesome, I would gladly buy this

Gotta love when there is a Mendoza Line reference haha, not enough of em in rock n roll (or in this case somewhat emo-ish rock folk)

http://www.breedloveguitars.com/instruments/guitars/limited/artist/tweedy/index.php man these are sweet

the $80 price tag is way to high, just my two cents

I often, sing/hum "There's a magazine, called sunset" "Jesus don't cry" and "Do you remember the mountain bed" those melodies all kinda sound similar too, sorta haha

I have yet to play this, but since it is a Vox, with 4, 1, and 1/4 watts, and its under 250 I think its a pretty good buy http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Vox-AC4TV-4W-1x10-Tube-Guitar-Combo-Amp?sku=476326

There was some dude who showed up about 1/2 way through the MVB set and he was yelling at someone on stage, he was complaining that it was too loud. Someone in a red flannel shirt convinced him that he should go stand somewhere else. I gotta give a big THANK YOU to whomever that was I'll gladly buy you a drink if I ever run into you at a Wilco show!!!! I can't believe you would choose to stand 15 feet from the speakers at a rock show, and spend the entire time complaining over the volume.

Google Plans to Launch Operating System
jmacomber68w replied to uncool2pillow's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I think it would be cool if Google bought Nintendo, and then became a company offering gaming, operating systems, cell phones, it would be like an apple for people not hip enough to own apples -
Official Home Recording Thread

How does everyone feel about those line six or vox type of interfaces? Or any other by companies that also make amps? The m audio stuff looks very promising, right in my price range. Does that company offer amp and effect simulators? While I don't often use pedals (outside of wah and tube screamer) I think it would be cool to have software that allows me to go all Nels Cline with effects. -
Now, onto Wilco...the first time I heard Wilco (The Song) live was at the North Hampton acoustic show. Even in that setting it had a certain something to it that made it a really great, really fun song to be apart of. It reminds me of I'm the man who loves you live, its just a fun song. I also read about the kids that got to strum Jeff's guitar. I find that easily one of the coolest rock n roll stories of all time, this band is awesome!

Well said! I don't know why, but it seems Conor Oberst is EASILY the most hated musician on this board, I find that so odd
-
WOW, magazine is easily one of my fav Wilco songs, awwww that sucks a lot

Man, I would go to Philly but I won't be around in October . I hope PJ makes a winter trip to the Northeast. NY, NJ, Mass, or CT would be nice. I have yet to see Pearl Jam live and I am ready and willing to shell out an insane amount of money to see a night 2 Pearl Jam stand

I don't think that Conor just decided to do a final song alone out of the blue without the bands consent, thats a bit foolish to think(although, he wasn't alone, he was with the piano player) I would be more upset, knowing the rain was on the way, that there was a 45 minute wait between conor and wilco. I do not in anyway blame any member of either band, I don't want to play the blame game, it was just a shitty situation with the weather. ANYWAYS, lots of rockers tonight! I brought my lil brother with me (his 1st Wilco show) we got there about 1/2 hour before Conor, and got nice spots up f

There are a lot of Conor related threads you may want to check out, but I'll give you my thoughts here.... Conor (or Bright Eyes if you prefer) has released, in my opinion 3 perfect records, all of these are A+ for me: 1. I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning (Bright Eyes) 2. Self Titled (the first mystic valley) 3. Fevers and Mirrors (BE) I would start with those 3 albums, you are already 1/3 of the way there! He also has several very good albums that I would still consider must own, more in the B to B+ range 1. Cassadaga (BE) 2. Letting Off The Happiness (BE) 3. Read Music/Speak Spanish (Desapar

Was Not For the Season originally released?
jmacomber68w replied to Wayne's Pet Youngin''s topic in Just A Fan
That is an ultimate music fantasy, I wish it was true! YHF would not only be, sorta better, but monumentally better. You bringing up More Like The Moon makes me think, imagine adding Bob Dylans Beard to that double album idea? Crazy stuff -

I think they need to play it WAY more live, http://wilcobase.com/song.php?song_key=189 under 40 times, compared to the 650+ for I'm The Man Who Loves You -
Hello all, I need a little bit of help. I am looking for recomendations on some simple home recording, I would like to upgrade from simple audacity. I am not looking to start a music career, but I would like to fiddle around a bit. I have a nice new laptop, and a pretty good 2.1 speaker set up, I am looking to plug in my strat or taylor acoustic into some sort of device, and then play around with built in effects, amp models, etc. There seems to be so much software out there, anyone have a few names to check out? Thanks in advance! Btw, sorry if there is an old home recording thread,

The biggest crime that Wilco has ever committed wasnt leaving off a "Wilco version" of Not For The Season, but rather, not putting Magazine Called Sunset on YHF
