  1. yeah i'd say: Healed Tallahassee Sunset Tree All Hail West Texas in that order wasn't too big on Get Lonely myself. some pretty stuff, but overall, eh... Healed is wicked awesome tho (i prefer his uptempo stuff)
  2. http://money.cnn.com/news/newsfeeds/articl...206112007-1.htm
  3. even more impressive when you consider the album is only sold EXCLUSIVELY at Walmart
  4. quite possibly, yes, but the bands management represents the band. the fact that nobody in the band bothered to double check that their management had contacted their openers. and really, would it be THAT difficult for someone in that 6-7 member band to take 5 minutes out of their day to email or call their openers and let them know what's up personally? i can tell you that when Arcade Fire cancelled the end of their euro tour this past spring, they contacted their opening acts personally and let them all know what was up. it's an easy out, but if a band cares that little about how their
  5. that it is if you can get to Eau Claire in the next month or so, you can probably still score a copy at Racy's coffee shop, otherwise they're pretty scarce. I'll check and see what they have tonight at his show (if any, they were almost completely gone in Mpls a week ago)
  6. jesus. seeing them tonight in Eau Claire w/ Bon Iver opening actually as if this wasn't bad enough, Land of Talk had all their gear stolen in Jersey recently too
  7. some nice live footage from Mpls a week and a half ago http://www.reveillemag.com/features/concer...iver-uptown-bar
  8. if i could count the Vampire Weekend Blue CDR, that'd probably be top 5... certainly top 10 can't wait for their full length
  9. while i've probably still heard quite a bit more than the average music listener, i've definitely slacked off pretty hardcore this year. usually i have no problem listing 50 albums that i enjoyed enough to mention, this year that might be closer to 30-35, hard to say. it's moreso out of laziness than good records though.
  10. T, you have to turn HTML on below your post (choose auto line break mode)
  11. http://www.ambledown.com/boniver_bio.html he just signed with Jagjaguwar who will re-issue his album with new artwork (audio will be identical tho) in Feb sometime here's an interview we did with him a few weeks back as well: http://www.reveillemag.com/features/artist...elieve-the-hype we will be posting 3 exclusive live HD videos on Reveille tomorrow from his show here in Minneapolis a week and a half ago, but here's a sneak peak: a bunch of us are going to see him again tomorrow night in Eau Claire as well!
  12. yeah, they had to cancel the first week or so of this tour due to one of them being sick i think the tour starts on Thursday in Iowa if i recall
  13. hmm.... Neon Bible certainly isn't as great s Funeral, but boring? and Spoon's newest is def better than the last one, but i still kinda feel they're treading water a bit compared to their run from '98 through '02
  14. i've only seen them once, early '06, and their sound was a bit different than this (bit more acoustic based), so I can't really say i'll let you know after Saturday tho oh, and the girl in the band is ridiculously HOT
  15. that Georgie James record totally blows away the latest New Pornographers (which i still like quite a bit) wish it'd get some more press though Pitchfork has posted about them, but for whatever reason has yet to review it going to see them on Saturday
  16. yeah, i'm pretty new to that Phosphorecent one (couple weeks), but it'll def be on my list somewhere
  17. early, but pretty good guesstimate for my top 4 (after that the order is pretty arbitrary at this point): Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago The National - Boxer Andrew Bird - Armchair Apocrypha LCD Soundsystem - Sound of Silver honorable mentions: Vampire Weekend, Radiohead, Georgie James, Jens Lekman, Iron & Wine, St. Vincent, Arcade Fire, Wilco, Richard Hawley, A Sunny Day In Glasgow, Dinosaur Jr., Pharoahe Monch, Kanye, David Vandervelde, The Besnard Lakes, Twilight Sad, Kevin Drew, Jason Isbell, Sharon Jones
  18. i think it's pretty cool too, and while i'm a huge PJ fan, i've always been pretty critical of Ed's musicianship when he's going it alone, but this is nice. i love the instrumentation on it, they need to use more stuff like that on the next PJ record. i'm kinda tired of them feeling like they need to fit into the classic/hard rock/punk mold again. we need another No Code . my favorite 2 songs on the soundtrack though are both covers (Hard Sun and Society) as for it being short, yeah for sure, but it's all written for the movie, not truly a solo record
  19. oh trust me... i've read a SHIT ton about the format (hell i don't even have an HD TV yet, because i'm waiting so that I can afford a really nice/big 1080p sometime next year when we buy a house). and i know for movies HD DVD is getting a ton of backing, but like i said, my biggest use for DVD's currently is data storage moreso than movies, so that is a factor i can't ignore...
  20. i'm rooting for Blu-Ray too, simply because for computer uses it holds 10 gigs more per disc (and 20 more for double layer) than HD DVD Blu-Ray = 25 gig (single) 50 gig (dual) HD-DVD = 15 gig (single) 30 gig (dual)
  21. guess i'm glad we decided to go to Band of Horses then instead granted the Decemberists set at Monolith was pretty damn boring
  22. not going to change, sorry for backup purposes it's best to keep the site as is
  23. for sure! although i loooove the original packaging, and would have loved to see a vinyl version like that, but at least there's more incentive now for me to buy both
