  1. they're really solid. can't say i'd drive to see them, but they're a good live band. check out Fuckin A, it's just as good
  2. and The Big Sleep are opening!
  3. i bought one for working out last weekend, so far i like it, but the lack of screen is definitely a big pain in the ass honestly... there's a lot of nice 1-2gig mp3 players foar around $60-100 that have screens (and most even have FM) take a look at iRiver, Samsung, & SanDisk
  4. even then, while there's certainly a few "new" country artists in that lineup i don't care for, Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn, and ESPECIALLY George Strait, are all quite good. i may not listen to any of them, but i'm familiar with their music through my mom and other country lovin' friends (and growing up in Eastern Montana), and they're great at what they do.
  5. the quality of the file was horrendous, 96kbps 22khz, wait for a good quality version, it's worth it.
  6. Frusciante's solo work is for the most part amazing. Shadows especially.
  7. wow, very coo mix of country/rootsy acts...
  8. Cisco suing Apple over the iPhone name http://money.cnn.com/2007/01/10/technology...sion=2007011019 no shock here, Linksys announced their own product using the iPhone name last week
  9. oh come on now, Pete's a hero of mine, but i've heard plenty of bootlegs dating back to like '67, both he and Roger's vocals had their fair share of off nights, is all i meant.
  10. same here. Sandler has proven himself to be a lot better actor as of late than a lot of people give him credit for, and i think this role only futhers that.
  11. i'll take a stab tonight when i get home
  12. keyboard that connects to Midi via USB (M-Audio Keystation 61es)
  13. that and they only won one of them if remember correctly. they've been nominated a few times, those ones and one of the Mermaid records.
  14. there's definitely one spot in there where his voice cracks a good deal, but not like Daltrey & Townshend's voices were/are always pristine
  15. Ed sounds great, too bad the backing music sounds canned in. i know it's some members of PJ, but it sounds like session musicians those strings are most likely a synth too but besides the almost note for note, tone for tone copy of the original for the most part... good cover
  16. i'd prefer the touch wheel myself but then again i'm super anal about fingerprints & scratches
  17. still love that record. didn't get into the one from this past year whatsoever though
  18. yup. this isn't going to do as well as people think, and a big reason is it being stuck on Cingular through 2009, in addition to the price. sure a few total gadget nerds will be willing to switch to Cingular just to have it, but i can't see it bringing too many customers over if they're not already with Cingular. if they could have done something with a one year contract it might be more succesful, but it's a huge risk/investment in my book it's sad too, because it appears to be the makings of a fucking amazing device. but for those who aren't fans of Cingular, and those who don't wanna dr
  19. oooof. you're dead right on that one. nobody i know in the Twin Cities here uses Cingular cuz it's coverage here sucks. over the last 9 years i've been with every major provider except AT&T/Cingular and i thought i read that Cingular is now going BACK to using the AT&T Wireless name soon? blah
  20. is there anything specific you're looking forward to in iLife 2007? iLife isn't all that great honestly. and you'll get it free with any mac, even if it's 2004, 2006, etc., and you can always upgrade iPhoto and the other apps for free using Software Update. the only thing i SOMETIMES use out of iLife is iPhoto (it pisses me off more than anything usually), and occasionally when i'm bored and want something simple w/ my midi keyboard, Garageband. as for Leopard, it was never going to be announced this early anyway. it'll likely be announced around April and ship by June. but i too was annoy
  21. i'd imagine Cingular has a 3 to 6 month exclusive deal with Apple, after that other carriers will get it.
  22. for it to sell like the regular iPod's it would first: a) have to be available on the major carriers T-Mobile, Verizon, and possibly even Sprint, in addition to Cingular come down to around $249 for the 4 gig and $399 for the 8 gig with a 2 year contract that's the big stickler, you're committing yourself to paying $59 a month ($39 phone plan + $20 data plan) for 2 years, so Cingular gets you for $2400 right away
  23. yeah, that's so stupid they went with Edge. but in the keynote he states it will be able to do Wimax soon...
  24. only morons spend $700 on a PS3, yeah i said it
