GREAT band i haven't checked out this new one yet, but Elysium was one of my fave albums of '04. Out of the Fierce Parade is good too. i LOVE the album title & cover of the new one already

they've always had some fairly cringe-worthy lyrics, all the way back to the 80's records. hell, the lyrics to Misery are awful too. by the same token, Lately's lyrics are fantastic imo i like it a lot, regardless. def their best since GDU imo

hah. trust me, i bitch about ticket prices more than anyone i know (just ask my friends), but for someone who tours very little avery 4-5 years anymore, and a once in a lifetime shot to see him, i'd def pay it easily, and before this year i'd never paid over $56 for a show (after fees). i've relaxed my stance a bit... like i paid $100 a piece for four 9th row tickets to CSNY tomorrow. granted the face value on the seats after fees is $205...

*NOD* the new Black Keys was kinda bumming me out a bit, so i switched over to this after that finished. not that the new BK is bad, just not very Rockin', mostly all midtempo to slow bluesier numbers. i'm sure i'll enjoy it more after a few more listens, but wasn't really getting my blood goin'

it leaked quite a while ago i've only had a chance to listen to 2 songs but both were pretty damn bland, and i LOVED Trouble.

did you ever see them live? i didn't "get it" either until i saw them live, and the 2 times since then only confirmed my thoughts. easily one of the best new bands i've seen live in years. last time i got that feeling from seeing a new band live was when i saw At The Drive-In in '99 but i love the record too. and Daniel, most likely early 2007, but they have almost 15 songs done now. the new songs i heard last year sounded killer, but who knows what they'll end up like in the studio.
