  1. yeah, i don't know if he's catering to the lite-rock crowd even, it's not even really geared toward that sort of dullness, cuz at least it'd be catchy then
  2. i was going with my friend but he's gonna be in San Fran now, so i may take my wife if i don't find someone else to go with me. she likes Eggs the times i've played it for her tho. i keep reminding her that he's hoT i think our tix are in the front row even ... Chris Koza is opening, he's pretty cool as well
  3. off Eggs i think my faves are Palindromes, Measuring Cups, & Tables and Chairs. Sovay & Masterfade are great tho too
  4. what do you think? i haven't listened to it in a few weeks, but i found it incredibly dissapointing and downright boring as hell a lot of the time... that first song takes so long to finally go anywhere, and then it never really builds to much for a good payoff imo... the 3rd or 4th track, w/ the horns, that sounds like a Van Morrison ripoff, is quite nice, but i don't think i really enjoyed more than a few tracks on it... nothing even remotely as great as the best 4-5 songs on Trouble (which imo was still a bit hit or miss, but much much better than this album)
  5. oops, less painful, as you can tell i was a bit out of it at that time
  6. i dunno, i've been seeing him for like 5-6 years now and it's never really bothered me i guess. from what i can recall (Sam?) he does it a bit more now than he used to with Bowl of Fire... he doesn't do it on every song, and even when he does do it i usually love it. it's just one of the extra things that makes him so unique. i dig Nervous Tic, but it's a ways down there in terms of my favorite songs of his, especially on Eggs.
  7. it's not just you... they're amazing, both live & on record, but especially live and i agree, how they aren't huge is kinda beyond me :-/
  8. seen Andrew a number of times (must be nearing 10 now...) always a great show... actually seeing him next Friday at the Zoo!!
  9. hmm.... i keep getting promo requests for them, i should check them out i suppose...
  10. alright... that went quicker and less painless than expected... *crosses fingers* if the forum gives you errors over the weekend i apologize, i'm out of town all weekend w/ very shoddy dialup access go outside and enjoy the nice weather (don't forget the sunscreen )
  11. i'm hoping these clear up, if they don't i will need to re-create the database tables from scratch then import the old data, but i really hope that doesn't turn out to be the case...
  12. i loved this: while he doesn't exactly have a "way with words", his comments about the curfew are more than legit
  13. i might go see them here at the Triple Rock
  14. neato, thanks for the heads up dude! is right
  15. really? Smile or LDN? those are both totally perfect summer pop singles imo... in fact i'd argue they're both as good maybe better than Crazy...
  16. it's quite possible they don't know that it was an actual name for a Wilco side project/show and just liked the name from the song?
  17. Smile & LDN on there rule, but imo the rest of the album isn't nearly as good... not to say the rest sucks, but i got a bit tired of most of the record minus those 2 and like 1 or 2 others
  18. Start of Something is good, as Smiths-ripoff as it is i prefer most of the Mothers, Sisters, Daughters, & Wives EP to it though, both EP's are fantastic tho, cannot wait for the full length. but yeah, new song is great
  19. fantastic album i'd prolly take Timeless Melody over There She Goes however
  20. hmm.... i'll try and see what's up, no idea as of now
  21. nice! Last year for First Ave's 35th Anniversary Deal, Kraig played a set of all Stooges covers w/ Mike Watt on vocals and Craig Finn came out for I Wanna Be Your Dog too if i recall. It was pretty awesome. sounds like you got a great show as wel Paul!
  22. Magnolia Electric Co. - Fading Trails
  23. Feel Good Lost, while instrumentals, is amazing too IMO
