man, those are the best types of Ryan shows imo not that i don't find his comments funny, but often times that leads to rambling, which leads to trainwrecks, which the last 2 shows of his i've seen have been.

well, while he's the obvious brains behind the songs, he as a performer isn't really that engaging all by himself for me (at least from the Grandaddy show i saw...) i don't think i'd be too interested in seeing Britt solo either myself... but that's for a different reason than Jason sorta had i not seen Grandaddy i'm sure i'd have gone as well

wow, sad about the attendance... Grandaddy @ First Ave a few years ago ('03?) was PACKED i'll be honest in that Jason solo just didn't interest me enough to brave the heat, not to mention i've got way too many other shows this week already

it means i think his songwriting & lyrics could stand to mature a bit, and that i often am annoyed by the "hop on pop" type of songwriting lyrics, but maybe that's just me... examples that really annoy me: as i stated before, Lightning Bolt by Radish is still the best thing Ben has ever been involved with imo, and he was what, like 15 then?

meh... i used to give him the benefit of the doubt, but while Guero had some great songs, it totally felt like "been done before by him, only better" for the most part.
