  1. yep yep, really friggin' great too makes me forget how bland Last DJ & Echo were
  2. it's not Trace (nothing could be), but imo it's his strongest release since then...
  3. it is really solid, but i still would have liked just a rocker or two here. the 2nd track is really great though. i'd def put it above thickfreakness at least, but still prefer Rubber Factory & Big Come Up. far as i know it was recorded before they signed with Nonesuch?
  4. finished listening to it last night, BLLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH maybe 2-3 songs as good as stuff from Trouble, those first 3 songs put me to sleep every time. Trouble was def overrated (had like 5-6 killer songs, the rest just ok), and it's production wasn't very good, but it blows this to pieces.
  5. also, rambling or not, if it's authentic, he's got some very valid points: nobody is "better" than anybody else. records arent baseball cards where one is in better condition so its better. they are not fucking speed trial. people aare not erunning laps up and down a tennis court. its not football. its not sports. nobody wins and loses. bright eyes is conor. i am me. starship is starship. its ridiculous to think you could compare and contrast a painter with another or writer or musician. its just pointless. they are locked into their world view and your feelings for art aside, it will never
  6. FYI these posts were not made on a message board, they were made on the Stereogum blog comments, who really knows if they're real or not, they seem like they are/could be. http://www.stereogum.com/archives/002882.html#comments
  7. i dunno, just emailed her about it. we went to a church in Broomfield for Christmas Eve last year, but it was a Methodist Church.
  8. it's not totally head and shoulders above the rest of his catalog like people like to make it seem, but it is fantastic.
  9. dude lives in the same Denver suburb as my Sister and her husband... weird cool though! saw CSNY on Sat night, it was incredible
  10. ^^ fabulous hoping to see them in 3 weeks
  11. JCN is fantastic, 29 is def Ryan's weakest all around effort.
  12. that sounds both horrendous and insanely intriguing at the same time http://www.nintendoland.com/cgi-bin/fanfic...;category=mario

  14. o i c well, there's been a lot of imposters before as well, but he does write that poorly usually

  17. yup, those are definitely the 2 TV Torso sounds like a demo almost comparatively. do you have their previous 2 full lengths? i've got one i can up.
  18. funny thing is, people bitch about this, but look at the Beatles, or most any act in the 60's and 70's? 2 albums a year was not out of the ordinary it's a silly thing to bitch about imo. the music industry has changed for the worse in that regards
