  1. don't let the turkey coma stop you from paaaaarrrtay-ing, Maudie! happy birffday
  2. i haven't had the easiest time with things in the past couple of weeks [or the entire year, really], but this topic has made me think about who i have and where i am right now. i could not be more thankful that my parents are still "there" for me. i've put them through a lot since i went away for school, and after an especially difficult summer, i'm especially glad that i have my home to come back to when i need to get away from everyone else. as hard as growing up was, i am so ashamed to have said that i wouldn't be visiting my family. [kids, you will always need your family. don't make
  3. it seems that there is a jimmy john's within walking distance of every house in milwaukee [my current house and last apartment are no exception]. jimmy john's is great--i like their bread, and the meats are much better than subway's and quizno's--but subway's tuna will always have a place in my heart. the only time i was ever to white castle i was a vegetarian, and felt safe having only the onion rings, which were shit...i can't imagine how awful the sliders are. *_* i've gotten gut-rot every time i've eaten at arby's. their reuben sandwiches are god-awful, and the mozzarella sticks are
  4. "kyle's mom is a bitch" gets funnier every time. definitely my favorite song. ever.
  5. i think there are a total of two families with my last name in the entire country. when i google my last name, i find entries only for myself, my cousins, aunts or uncles, or this unrelated guy in louisiana who [i guess] is a prominent lawyer and philanthropist. we're norwegian, but what the hell kind of name is langum? barely anyone in norway has that name. all of the names i'm associated with are pretty obscure--none crack 5000. not even my mom's maiden name [haese], which sounds common, but is spelled in the german way instead of the english way.
  6. best moment: being front row [with happeningstone and vwcommercial...!] in milwaukee last month. what a trip! [by the way, the rave's pictures are awful...but there are glimpses of my boyfriend and i, as well as our other {previously mentioned} vc cohorts in a couple of photos. my face in mid-action is not pretty.] missed moment: seeing andrew bird with wilco for jesus, etc. maybe a little simplistic, but i guess i might not know what else i'm missing.
  7. late reply, but... her name is ashley nicole wirth. [did you like her or something?] she is my dumbass ex-roommate who couldn't convince me to brave my kidney infection to see this show. damn kidney infections to hell! [it really wasn't her fault...but still, she isn't the smartest person ever.] i was always kind of annoyed at how indiscreet she was about her job. she'd just park her ass in front of some fan and snap some pictures, not really thinking about being in someone else's way. it's gonna be slow if there aren't that many people seeding it. i haven't seen it anywhe
  8. vwcommercial and i were discussing this very topic on tuesday night when i was at his house. what a ko-in-ki-dink!
  9. Until about five minutes ago, I've had no interest in listening to Jay Bennett's solo[etc.] stuff. What, if anything, do y'all recommend? I honestly don't know what I'm supposed to think of him. Tell me...please, make me a puppet. ; ] [No, but seriously, what is the general sentiment that people hold about him 'round these parts?]
  10. somehow, it happens the same way every time...it's just the subject of my dream that changes. i'm a pretty boring dreamer...
  11. mine finally has a job that doesn't require shaving or wearing a beard net [he made johnsonville sausages for two years], which makes us both quite happy. he's happy because he can be lazy, and i'm happy because he looks cute...like that "scruffy looking artist type." as for dreams of wilco, i've had a few. nothing outlandish...usually the run into jeff/john/glen on the street, chat, get coffee, hit on him [whoever it is], make him feel awkward, run away...then show up at the concert later in the day like a creep. ^_^
  12. i would also recommend skipping pablo honey for a while... as someone who went into the deep end over radiohead [years ago, mind you...and i'm only 19], i would [like others] have to say that they became better at crafting music after the initial "british answer to nirvana" days [imitation so evident in that record, isn't it?]. that said, i'm glad that you started with the bends. when you get to amnesiac, i would hope that you could identify exactly what coldplay took from radiohead [and how incredibly smart they were for it]. amnesiac is my favorite--sometimes i like to mix in some kid a
  13. one record store i shop calls them "insurgent country" [along with johnny cash, etc. etc. etc.] i would much rather go with "roots rock," however, because it has been years since they produced anything close to country...they are best at purveying rootsy-tootsy kinds of rockyrockrock! {{{ew...sorry}}}
  14. watashi mo anatano baby ga kawaiidato omoimasune! she's going to be a very smart girl.
  15. yeah, you're right. watashi-ha anata-ni "hajimemashite" to "doozo" wo iitaimashita. i hope i still make sense... ima, takusan nihongo wo hanasanai. [i was a student last year, but i forgot a lot of words. ]
  16. ??????? ????Wilco??????? ??????????? ??????????????????????????? ????
  17. yay! okay, so i'm gonna be late for work if i don't get off the dern computer, so i hope that things keep going for you. cheers ^_^
  18. yep. i made a point of doing that earlier today. i went into my router settings and forwarded some ports, changed ports in azureus--that jazz. [you know.] i've got the little green smiley face with the hand underneath it, which i assume is good...
  19. are the speeds okay? i feel like i'm getting a weird read when i check stats.
  20. i did that by pasting the filenames at the bottom of the torrent info, right? i feel like a total n00b...
  21. someone wanna test it? http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=510276
  22. thanks--the screenshots make it a whole lot less confusing.
  23. okay, i'm having a bit of trouble. being the first day that i've ever torrented, i just can't figure out how to get the torrent on to the etree tracker. i'm trying to create the torrent from azureus, and i just can't get it right! = [ any help would be awesome, because i'm so confused...
  24. bt.etree.org is not remotely as exclusive as DIME--membership isn't hard to get there. as long as you're comfortable with the whole torrent thing [which i gave myself a crash-course in today], it's worth the 30 seconds of making yourself a username. i really don't know where else to put it up... i should have the show up there within the next hour.
