The first time I heard this one, I thought it was either Van Morrison or Springsteen. The voice, but then the horn came in. I was confused.

I listen to nothing but Shuffle when I'm in the car, but nothing but full albums when I'm at work.

"The Returned" Pretty cool supernatural drama. Just creepy enough.

A Brazilian post-punk band. Recommended by a Brazilian friend of mine. I had never heard of these guys before and I'm digging this pretty hard. RIYL: Wire, Mission of Burma, Magazine, stuff sung in Portugese I'll have to find this one on CD or whatever, because the YouTube isn't portable enough. Good stuff, though. Thought I would share the love.

Saw them in between Alien Lanes and (now I'm brainfarting on the name of the next record) their next one. A brilliant show. Metro in Chicago. I remember thinking that "Motor Away" is one of the greatest live rock songs there has ever been.

Looking to pick up one of these sometime. Could come in handy.

Oh yeah, I saw the reunited Big Star in 1994 at Metro in Chicago. Alex was inspired that night and actually seemed like he cared enough to deliver the goods. And he did. And so did the rest of the band. An amazing show. I also happened to find a recording of that very show on CD in the record store that is right next to Metro, so I can re-live it over and over. And I frequently do.
