  1. DAMN this better kick off the europe run because I need jeff to play Reservations at my wedding in chicago as my first dance song!
  2. its great listening to via chicago, looking out the window towards my balcony and the L tracks
  3. Where did Jeff say he didnt want these shows distrubted and did he give a reason? I'm willing to guess less than 5000 people have any of those shows
  4. Speed Racer Im not making a class-ist argument here. I'm just saying not everybody even if they have the money, has the opportunity to participate in one of these shows. These shwos are small and intimate and I really dont see how a recording released after the fact takes away from the specialty, spontaneity, or magic of the moment at the show. The group photo analogy really doesnt apply here. Sure the group photo may ruin the moment. The equivalent would be 1000's of people in the living room instead of 30. How does recording take away from ones experience at the show? Have you ever
  5. Has the second city set a date yet for this years show?
  6. Not to be a dick, but ( yes I know anytime you start a sentence like that you end up sounding like a dick) quit whining. The shows are fantastic if you get to go, but honestly 1) not everybody has 250-500 to shell out for a show and 2) is able to get into a group of 30 people who are bidding on a show. I'm sorry if the thought of me listening to a show that took place in a living room in Winneteka while I'm driving around in my car really detracts from your experience of that show. Don't worry you still went to a tiny show and got to hang out with the Tweedys. You're still special in my book
  7. wow dick maybe you could have just answered the question?
  8. Just curious, how many people were there? This seemed super low key. I got a random email about it but didnt see any mention of it the week of the onsale on here and no mention afterwards. unfortunately I had to work
  9. Woo Hoo!!!!! Long day and i'm sure i'm missing the obvious but does anybody know the link to the front gate ticket presale? I went on their web page and searchd "wilco" and found nothing.
  10. I thought he prepared by doing lots of HGH, steroids, and epogen
  11. the shirt would almost be better if it didnt say "wilco"
  12. I'd say Chicago but people would say I'm spoiled....its all relative I smell a Fall or Thanksgiving Residency coming up.
  13. dcarter my point is that she's going to see wilco and got pretty good tickets which she pre-ordered be happy that you're going to see your favorite band in a situation where the dont play too often and quit complaining about the nuainces of being 29 rows vs 9 rows back
  14. IMHO the best song on the album and I cant wait to hear this monster live!!!! It is nasty and edgy. I remember commenting on how dark and nasty the music was without having paid attention to the lyrics yet. Whats up with the murder fantasies Jeff?
  15. "and if that's what we can expect, then I don't see the point of doing the presale at all." the point of a pre-sale is to give fans insider-type information with the purpose of giving you a chance to secure seats to a show that may quickly sell out i didnt know you lived in spain, but sorry that you're getting to see a show and have to sit a whole 29 rows away from the band, my heart aches for you and its pretty funny that you feel "entitled" to better tickets
  16. I like this album a lot more than I initially liked SBS which has since grown on me. My only complaint is that some of the songs are way too short. Ok let me clarify. I havent listened to it since Lolla but I remember One Wing being a bit of an extended monster song. I wish they would have extended this more on album. Certain other songs especially Bull Black Nova seem like it could have gone on forever (in a good way). I hope that live these songs really take flight and allow for some improvisation and extended playing. otherwise i'm very content good job boys
  17. I'm confused so you pre-ordered tickets and got tickets to a small show in Spain which apparently was tough to get tickets to. Others obviously had problems getting tickets. Yet you are complaining about being in the 29th row? Were you entitled to better seats? I dont want to come of as a dickhead but c'mon quit crying you got tickets to go see Wilco in a small venue in SPAIN. Presales guarantee an alotment of tickets to a show, the tickets distributed in a presale are all over the venue. Great seats are reserved for sale by the venue and general onsale dates bottom line enjoy the s
  18. Are people afraid they'll get banned from here if they post some info or are they just being elitist who dont want to share?
  19. I had the same thoughts about the setlists and was hesitant to start a thread. I'll preface the rest of the comments with the fact that Phish and the Dead are two of my favorite bands. Wilco really needs to shake things up setlist wise. I thought the residency would open up a lot of new possibilities, but it didnt happen. Although I enjoy the songs they play 1/2 of the same setlist every night. Its not like they cant vary it up more. I know a lot of people who see Wilco arent as zelous as we are on here and with that understanding you have to play the "hits" to please the crowd. If tha
  20. well considering AM lists all of their booking and fan club info with a st louis address........
  21. Well they're actually a St. Louis band which has relocated to Chicago and has now made (for some time) Chicago their home base They had their first shows in St. Louis and didn't make it to Chicago until 1995 or so Louie....how do you not consider Smashing Pumpkins in that group
