  1. Are you dialing the main line or the back up number? Last year I think they announced second week or so of Jan. I'd be shocked if he wasn;t although i woudl like to see a standard tweedy show in Chicago. Not sure if I need a bigger fan than you are setlist again.
  2. Glad to hear the tickets are so cheap now!!! I wanted to go but didnt have the 100 to spend on two tickets, 50 isnt so bad. Thanks Sue
  3. Dont know if this was pointed out already but shouldnt Remember the Mountain Bed be eliminated from the list? From the original few posts it looked like a list based on songwriting and lyrics as well as music. Now if we were compiling a Woody list.....
  4. Woo hoo Thanks Sue!!!! paying for our own wedding made 200 plus dollars hard to spend but 100 is easier to swallow. I've always paid full price for this show, but its nice to be able to contribute and still go
  5. I'm shocked he hasnt done it yet honestly. I would love to see him release a live album or two. Although I'm not sure anything could be as good as the March 2007 living room show.
  6. couldnt disagree more its expected that you sit at a movie, nobody EVER stands at movies concerts (and shows ) are made for dancing and standing. Its' the norm. Music moves you it makes you want to get up and dance and jump around. I was at a Stones show and a guy was pissed that I was standing up and dancing. He then started throwing popcorn at me. He eventually got kicked out by security for throwing shit at me
  7. Strange list since its basically the same songs they play every night. Lonliness would be awesome though. I'm not sure if its my show selection of what but I feel like I've heard mountain bed at every show i've been to in the last year
  8. It's a concert. Stand. Dance. Enjoy. That being said, I like the opportunity to sit at jeff solo shows
  9. 1. Spiders 2. ELT 3. Nothingsever 4. Bull Black Nova 5. Pot Kettle 6. Gun 7. Muzzle 8. Impossible Germany 9. Ashes 10. Monday 11. Future Age 12. Always in Love 13. One Wing 14. Radio Cure 15. Cars Can't Escape 16. Airline to Heaven 17. How to Fight Lonliness 18. Candyfloss 19. I am Trying to Break Your Heart 20. Theologians 21. Less Than You Think > (w/ feedback extending to encore) E: 1. Acuff Rose 2. ALTWYS 3. Poor Places> 4. Reservations > 5. Spiders Reprise i cheated its 26 but the Spiders reprise would be very short
  10. damn last year i spent 100 and somehow walked in 30 min before the show started and sat 4 rows back from the stage, not sure how there was an open row but it was fantastic i hope my fiance lets me spend 100 per ticket...although a feb 13th onsale does make for a nice gift
  11. When did/does it officially open? it looked closed last weekend
  12. I'm actually more excited that Filter is reopening than the fact that John probably lives around the corner from me. That place was fantastic and really was a shot to the 6 corners when Bank of America took over that spot.
  13. apparently it means they play two sets, a normal Wilco set and then they play Being There straight through
  14. I can't remember the exact date but there was a Rolling Stone article the release of YHF where he was singing the praises of Sonny and Cher
  15. I'm not sure I really understand the thread but just want to elaborate on the "You are my Face" thought When I heard it live the first time it immediately reminded me a lot of Phish especially the ending and that floating type groove they go into. I know its not what they do, but Wilco frustrates me sometimes because I think they definatley have the talent and cohesiveness to take a song like You are My Face and turn it into 10 minutes of pure joy. It would be nice to see them take a risk like that sometime
  16. Holy crap how can you hate radio cure? magazine is a decent song but not fantastic it doesnt have any of the depth radio cure has. whoever made the comment about the headphones and really getting immersed in the song understands
  17. Oh and I absolutely love Radio Cure. Initially it was one of the songs I kind of mentally skipped when listening to the album but listening loud on a great stereo got me hooked. The intro to that is haunting
  18. I agree with the OP in that they should play more covers. I assume I'm in the majority of the people here who could go a show or two without hearing Jesus, ITMWLY, Heavy metal Drummer. Throwing a cover or two in, if not just for part of the encore would be great. I also think they should change up their setlists a little more but I understand the arguement for not doing it (mainly i dont think your average wilco fan is maniacal and sees them at least 2 times a year) For the covers you gotta go with solo Tweedy i guess. Fake Plastic Trees was fantastic. Also saw Simple Twist of Fate and
  19. I got a copy of YHF before the official release came out and to be honest, i'm not even sure if it is the final version that was released. It has the same tracklisting as the official release so I assume its the same thing, but anybody know if there was another version floating out there with the same tracks? Its one of the few perfect albums I have. Its up there with side 2 of Abbey Road.
  20. I sheepishly admit that I didnt know it was a CCR cover....it was the best song of the night actually And the Single Ladies tease was awesome I wish he would have finished it. The dance was priceless. Great show as usual and thank you to the woman who had enough money to buy Gun so that it was played 5 feet from me. I also thought it was pretty funny that he commented on opening with Someone Else's Song for the second time in 3 years.
  21. I've been the last two years and cant wait to go again. I've seen several wilco related shows over the past few years in chicago and these are always the best, even if you do only hear 4 or 5 songs. Just wish I had the money to get a "lap song."
