  1. They're on Austin City Limits on Saturday (Feb. 13)
  2. John Coleman is a journalist, who holds no science degrees. Are we really relying on the guy who was the weatherman for Good Morning America? Can't we get a consensus from the scientific community? Oh right. They're all in cahoots and have a secret agenda.
  3. As long as he stays away from the assless pants...
  4. Also - thumbs up for the protesting chicken.
  5. Doesn't the fact that the dumbass is wearing a wife-beater in winter suggest that it's a mild winter? Thumbs up for the banjo. Thumbs down for the poor video/audio sync.
  6. COWS. They're defunct now, but man did I love their shows in the early 90s.
  7. I miss season one. I think that one may be my favorite, just because it was awesome watching the cops figure out who exactly Avon Barksdale was. Snoop and her mumble-mouth might be my favorite character. Chris Partlow scares the bejeezus out of me WAY more than Omar. Partlow would kill me. Omar would ignore me because I'm a "citizen."
  8. It hasn't been mentioned because it's not accurate. The Wire was always an HBO product.
  9. Getting close to finishing. Season 5 has been so awful (not awful in quality, but awful in the choices of McNulty and others) that we've been dragging on this season. Not to mention I think we're stalling on finishing the series. 3 more episodes to go.
  10. Talking baby AND talking animal commercials need to go.
  11. I'm holding out for the BJ and the Bear remake.
  12. Well that's the balance that every artist has to strike, no? They know they're being counted on to play the HITS, even if the artist is only interested in the newer material. They know it's the hits that pays the bills. Scorsese once said something about this - saying that because he has to work with the studios, he has to kowtow to them every once in a while, so that they'll loosen the reigns and give him artistic freedom. He says he tries to alternate with every other movie: one for "them" and one for himself.
  13. Fair enough. Though, I'm never quite sure what the meaning of "parody of himself" means - that particular phrase seems like a cop-out and has become a cliche. When I think of a parody of McCartney, all I can think of is this Spitting Image sketch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5zA-EogJMc McCartney seems too earnest to me to be projecting any image but himself, aged. He's never been hip or edgy, and he's always had those always-arched, surprised-look eyebrows. I'm not the biggest Paul-solo fan myself, and I would admit that my enjoyment of his show is influenced by my worship of the
  14. I think that song-writing is definitely a youngster's game. I can't think of any major artists whose later-life song writing is on par with what they wrote when younger. As for performing, Fogerty still rocks and sounds great. McCartney still rocks and sounds great. Petty still rocks and sounds great. Dylan? Well....
  15. Really? Why? Have you seen him lately? I saw him last spring, and it was one of the best concerts I've been to.
  16. I put in the Live at Kilburn DVD after to compare the performances. Good stuff.
  17. Wholly Flock. Noe's a mind-fuck for any age.
  18. I don't think he will sign with the Devils. The rumors say that he'll be offered $20m+/year in the KHL, tax free. As long as there's oil in them thar hills in Roosia, there's tax-free salaries to dangle.
