  1. Anyone know why there is no shuttle service/ parking on Route 2? The past couple of SSFs there were at least 2 lots, but none this year - all shuttles are running from lots on Route 8. We're staying in Williamstown so there aren't any close options for parking - basically have to either drive to the lots at mass moca or past there to the lots on Route 8. Are there ride share options in North Adams?
  2. I was at Portchester Night 2 and Brooklyn Night 1 and I totally agree with you. I love the Capitol Theatre! I thought the Portchester show was great and am surprised there haven't been more posts on this thread. At the Kings Theatre, I was seated toward the back of orchestra and felt kind of disconnected, not sure how else to describe it. And, sound was definitely not loud enough to drown out the talkers around me. Bosco - thanks for taping
  3. The 2 train runs all night, but it is a slow ride into midtown for you to make the path connection. The 2 makes all local stops from midnight on - probably 40 min. ride. FYI - path was having signal problems this morning.
  4. For those still looking for tix for 2/5, I was able to pull 2 tix after refreshing several times. Seats are not great - section 4 and section 10. But, even after i threw these back, I was able to pull more tix. Keep trying!
  5. The Summerteeth IPA was only 5.5% - very tasty. I enjoyed quite a few. Looks like it was a small batch brew https://smuttynose.com/smuttlabs-summerteeth-a-wilco-inspired-pale-ale/
  6. From Wilcobase, July 4, 2001 - 12 years ago! Never thought I'd hear this song live - too bad crowd was so chatty
  7. At the beginning the show, I said to my husband, "it would be great to hear some bt songs - maybe Kingpin or Red Eyed and Blue. And they never play Dreamer in my Dreams, so I doubt we'll hear that." Needless to say, I was completely floored by the encore! I might have been dreaming, but I thought California Stars was played again night #2? It's hard getting back to reality after such an amazing weekend! Can't wait for Camden and Brooklyn.
  8. Is there a 3 night minimum required? I had called a couple of the smaller hotels ( can't remember the names right now) and they told me there was a 3 night minimum stay. I have to leave by Sunday night, so I'm hoping that some hotels will not impose a minimum stay requirement. I couldn't get into the Holiday Inn last year - stayed there for the 1st Solid Sound and it was so convenient. Last year, we stayed at the Orchards. It was a bit pricey, but the shuttle stop was right across the street, so it worked out pretty well.
  9. I called the Holiday Inn a couple of months ago to see if they were taking reservations for next June. The guy I spoke with said that although they were not taking reservations that far in advance, the hotel was already booked for Solid Sound. My guess is that they are blocking rooms for performers/artists at the festival.
  10. My husband and I are flying in Friday morning. Our flight gets in at 9am, so we will be looking for things to do until check-in at the hotel. Any suggestions for a nice breakfast/lunch spot? We booked the hotel package deal and would be happy to meet up with some folks. Can't wait for Red Rocks!!!
  11. Whole Love was just played during the last 5 minutes of NBC's Parenthood.
  12. Agreed - Just saw tickets for $123 and $276 from a ticket broker site. I hope there is another date announced for NYC area
  13. Thanks uberblee I think I'll probably come out for the weekend - try to do some touristy stuff. Might make sense to stay at a hotel downtown and take the train to the show. Do VCers try to meet up pre-show? If so, I'd be game for that.
  14. Hi all I have tickets for the Oct 18th show - can't wait. Can someone please help me out - I'm flying in for the show and need to get a hotel. Should I stay near the venue (which I think is near the University of Chicago?) or is it better to stay downtown? I will not have a car, so is it easy to get a taxi to the venue or does the el go there? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  15. Just got tickets for Hammerstein Ballroom - NYC Anyone else going?
  16. Earth Hour is Saturday, March 28th at 8:30pm (local). I'm hoping for Jeff Tweedy by candlelight
  17. I love Red Bank - such a fun town. We live in Colts Neck - grew up in North Jersey.
  18. We'll be driving up from NJ. Not sure how early we'll be arriving, but we'll be looking to grab a quick meal. Does anyone know of a good bar/restaurant close to the venue?
  19. That would be sweet - maybe tonight? Neil's setlist for US/Canada Tour 2008: http://www.rustradio.org/chart.php?tour=uscan2008
  20. Wilco was great - good song selection to try to draw new fans. I was on the floor (about 20 rows back and center between Jeff and John) and thought the sound was better for Wilco than for Neil. Wonder how it sounded in the seats. Seemed like the crowd got fired up during Spiders. Some guys standing near us who never saw (or heard) Wilco before said they really enjoyed the performance. Hummingbird was just lovely last night - couldn't stop smiling I was surprised at how much room there was in GA - even after Neil took the stage. And, not too many altercations where we were standing.
