just ordered The Big Short and Trouble Boys after getting out of Game of Thrones jail (almost a year, loved it, never watched it, thought it was the complete series- oops), immediately devoured Purity by Franzen and 11/22/63, and now polishing off Zero K by DeLillo (not sure, but interesting conceptually). Packing up the new two for a solitary week to stare at the Atlantic Ocean. If the books don't do it, the view will.

Now I need to devise a plan to get to SF in September! (cue sounds of doors opening!).

love the opening ceremonies better every time- and they are celebrating the shit out of Brazilian music (12 year old rapper kills), but those hosty Brazilians might have their aviation history confused. Or not.......

Great news- good job, Diane!!

the newport set is fantastic- i like elvis', too; they both sound wound up. Ryan w/ the Infamous Stringdusters is pure bliss: plus new, umm, song debut "Frightened and Rabid"

although the memories are somewhat...shallow....I immediately thought of Joe's Field Rain/ Joe's Field Heat, and Cooperstown camping at the brewery. Oh my. refreshing.

i'm being pleasantly enlightened by some rediscovered Jerry and Merl, brushing up on my Los Campesinos, and blowing the rust off some Live Rust, while Courtney Banrett and the new Parquet Courts are hitting the high notes. The high notes.
