  10. Well said, ksmoke. A brilliant mind indeed- my understanding is he spent his last months travelling with his partner, and embracing life to the end. I'd also like to mention that "The Last Hippie" is another wonderful piece, I believe it was published in the New York Times. 12. jeebus- i cannot stop playing this record. New discoveries with each listen, its a throwback for me: i remember walking into record stores and picking out some fresh vinyl and then taking it to the woodshed, repeated listenings, flipping and fueling on kitchen runs, emerging anew from the weekend with carnal music knowledge. #thankuwilco
  13. Poon, if its Velrco you want to read about, PM me. I'm kinda stuck on it. Seriously, I'm deep into GOT. Three quarters through the first one. Favorite new word: craven Favorite new phrase : "Winter is coming"

  15. by the benefit of 2 old brothers i was introduced to Zeppelin by way of rides in their manual Mustangs and Roadrunners while being driven from here to there. the first Led Zeppelin for me, at the ripe age of 13 was In Through the Out Door. After many early morning paper delivery routes, with the 8 track slung across my paper bag, these are the Zeppelin songs upon which my teeth were cut. Exploring the whole catalog extensively since, this one holds a place on my musical mantle : i was in from the first bombastic guitar break of "in the Evening" sold, and loved the musical history lesson the
  16. strongly disagree. While you can argue that dominance is better measured by a high strikeout one hitter and I wouldn't disagree, you cannot deny that the ability to pitch at a major league level offers the possibility of having your best stuff on any given day. That being said, anytime someone is able to pitch 9 innings and retire 27(+) professional hitters without allowing a hit is certainly worth a shitload of merit, not to mention grit, competitiveness, and effort. And luck is a part of the game, as no hitters have been "earned" (see; J Santana) and lost (Armando Galarraga).
  17. that is so sweet- just saw it on another site....compelled me to put it on again (cause I really needed a reason!) thanks for sharing!
  18. Hi Gang- unfortunately I have to bail out of the league, as I have two prior league commitments and fear over FF saturation. So there is an opening to the first one who gets in- thanks again for the offer and I hope the spot gets taken ASAP!
