I finally saw the new Star Wars movie and absolutely hated it. Not sure I'll bother to watch any future offerings from that once beloved franchise.

New album and tour announced this morning. Described as being influenced by New Order and Roxy Music. They're one of my favorite bands, so I'm bummed that they (again) won't be making a stop in NOLA. Given that I've been working part-time while taking care of my dad, I don't have the funds to travel for a show. Still I'm looking forward to the new album! https://www.stereogum.com/1978877/hear-the-first-single-from-new-decemberists-album-inspired-by-new-order-and-roxy-music/music/

I was a college freshman when they took off. Really loved “Dreams” and “Linger.” Very sad.

I've been on the fence about seeing her on this tour, but not because she's not great live. I saw her on her last tour and was impressed. I may have to see her again based on your recommendation.

He must have at least one real friend or someone who cares about him, right? If so that friend or someone needs to sew his mouth shut and break every one of his goddamned fingers to keep him from tweeting. It would be for his own good. He can’t get out of his own way. Every day brIngs a new train wreck.

There are way more with your feeling about it than there are with mine. I don't know if you were there, but a few years ago Elton John played the Acura stage. The crowd that day was dangerously large. I told a friend that day that if someone near the front of the Acura stage had suffered a heart attack, nobody would be able to get to them in time. It literally took an hour to get from one side of the fairgrounds to the other that day. I haven't been back since. A lot of locals (including myself) pushed for ticket caps after that experience, but there's no way they'll ever do that. There's too

Today I bought this t-shirt.

Correct. I once enjoyed it, but it's gotten too crowded for my taste. It'll depend on the lineup. But I no longer cry when I miss it. Haven't been in three years.

Just picked up "The Man from Muscle Shoals" by Rick Hall. It came with a DVD copy of the excellent documentary "Muscle Shoals."

I think I knew that at one time but forgot. I guess James comes by his wordsmithing honest. I was actually more excited about finally seeing him live, but Isbell & co. were great also.

I couldn't agree more about their live performances. I saw them a couple of weeks ago and was very impressed.

Saw "Darkest Hour" tonight. Gary Oldman is definitely worthy of a best actor nomination for his portrayal of Churchill.

A sad day for me when I got home from work. My old Fables "monkey on a bicycle" t-shirt had worn out (the graphic had literally peeled away from the cloth of the shirt, leaving a gaping hole). I ordered one of the reproductions on R.E.M.'s website, and like most shirts nowadays it's paper thin. I know a lot of folks seem to like those, but I'm not one of them. Just a tiny matter, I know, but I sure love that design.
