I've always thought that the best songs on "Out of Time" are the ones that weren't hits: "Near Wild Heaven," "Belong," "Half a World Away," "Texarkana," "Country Feedback," and "Me in Honey."

I totally agree. Wow! What an amazing experience! Very jealous. I didn't see them a lot though I did catch one of their Red Rocks shows with Wilco which is one of my greatest concert memories. And they played "I Believe," my favorite R.E.M. song.

I have an original brick from the steeple of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Athens where they played their first show. Happy 38th to my favorite all-time band (sorry, Wilco).

That has to be an incredible feeling. Congrats to you! -
It was actually last night, as I just got home from the show...but The Weeks with Caroline Rose opening.

I saw somewhere that Hannity's taking on-air shots against Shepard Smith. As a fellow Ole Miss alumnus, I hope Shep can get out of there and land somewhere more...um...sane.

Geez, man. So very sorry.

Thank you for your reassuring words. It's interesting that you suggest I talk to him about the game. I thought about posting an update on Facebook a couple of months ago along the same lines I was going to advise anyone who sees me talking while driving alone in my car that I was talking to my dad about a ballgame. A friend who lost his dad almost a year exactly before I lost mine told me the number of things about which he'd like to talk to his dad has piled up. I've noticed the same thing.

Streaming over at NPR.

Today I'm watching my first Atlanta Braves game since my dad passed away. He introduced me to baseball through the Braves in the summer of '82 (shortly after we got cable), and I fell in love with the game almost immediately. I played until the game outpaced my skill set and have continued to watch it. I'd give anything to have him here with me to talk about the game today.

Nice! Waxahatchee's coming to NOLA in May after cancelling last year. Hoping to catch the show in May.
