  1. this week? 1- ST 2- YHF 3- AGIB 4- BT 5- WTA 6- SBS 7- AM
  2. honestly, I'm shocked he was still alive - impressive. RIP.
  3. "Everything we do is based on The Replacements" - 5/10/97 @ The Fillmore, SF
  4. c'mon - give the guy a break. if he made rational, level-headed arguments, his posts wouldn't be nearly as entertaining to read.
  5. All I know is that if it weren't for vicodin, I would have had a really rough time recovering from my heel/ankle surgery a few years ago. I was held at the hospital for longer than expected because I couldn't manage my pain - nothing (morphine, etc) was working until they tried vicodin on me. I was still in a lot of pain, but it was reduced to a tolerable enough level that I was allowed to go home. I personally was able to function fairly well on it - well, except for the time that I had a glass of wine with it, thinking it'd be no big deal... that combo knocked me on my ass, bigtime!
  6. they've played the new material pretty straight to what's on the album so far. even "bull black nova" live is remarkably similar to the studio version - which IMO is unfortunate since that song would benefit from a little bit of extra jeff-is-losing-it emotion at the end.
  7. looked to me like he's been doing some yoga...
  8. Coleman can still appeal to the US Supreme Court, too...
  9. Thanks - good interview. I thought he handled the Bennett questions well.
  10. Top-right corner, under search button, "View New Content" link?
  11. I got in line around 5:45 on Tuesday and could have easily been in the pit - I instead chose front row center on the 1st platform (a much better location IMO, since it puts you at about eye level w/ the band, and only 30 ft or so away from the stage.) tip - if you get there early and decide to not go to the pit, enter the theater thru the doors farthest away from you as you approach from the lobby. the 1st door/aisle fills up with people waiting to get into the pit, but the other aisles are wide open and give you full access to the rest of the floor.
  12. I was waiting for a camel reference, personally....
  13. the longer the hair, the more obvious the gray becomes. trust me...
  14. Also my least favorite song on the new album, by far. I had softened a bit on it after the Pomona and Wiltern shows I attended (where I very much enjoyed YNK), but last night again left me wondering why they chose to have that song as the single instead of One Wing, W(TS), Sonny Feeling... hell even You and I. Those harmonies just annoy me and the song seems to plod along. But rest assured, there still is quite a bit to love on the new album... even if you don't like YNK.
  15. ...and be prepared to be tossed for throwing something on stage. just sayin' if you're willing to stick around after the show, I understand the band is usually accessible for a while at the busses. Might be a better & more personal way to deliver it, anyway. (that is a great shirt, btw)
  16. Well, that settles it. Thankfully the live incarnation of YNK is better than what's on the album.
  17. I'd agree with you on all fronts. Wilco put on a solid show, but the LA crowd last night was a little annoying. The people around me were texting/emailing on their iPhones during the show... distracting as hell. LOVED them opening with Via Chicago - great way to set the tone for the rest of the night. I never tire of how Glenn & the band just go nuts while Jeff calmly strums away. And I was praying we'd get a rowdy I'm a Wheel at some point... thrilled that they ended the show with it.
  18. now that things have settled down, I'll agree with you that the new VC is fine and there isn't much basis for complaints. But it was pretty damn near unbearable for a few weeks there - I know I got out of the habit of coming here because it was such a chore. Glad it's back - hopefully usage will return as well.
  19. Tuesday night for me... so what's a good place in the area for decent (cheap) food & good beer?
  20. Nicely put. I'd like to think that I'm a fairly compassionate person and am certainly not snooping for some sordid tabloid story... just wondering how it could have happened to such a young guy. And the fact that he had shared many details about his personal health & insurance issues makes many of us (well, I can't speak for others - so me) wonder if his passing was somehow related.

  22. Just want to echo what everyone else has said about how tremendous of a show this was. I was blown away by the song selection - they hit stuff from every album, every phase of their past. Even Hate It Here (which I don't really care for) kicked ass... and You Never Know (which I REALLY don't like) sounded like a completely different tune to me - was great. To put it into perspective, I think the "weakest" part of the show was Deeper Down - and that's only because they played it very cautiously and straight to the album. I think in 3 or 4 more shows, it'll rock like all the rest. These
  23. Listening to some of the live versions of "One Wing" again makes me wonder why this wasn't the "official" single for WTA. I really hope they choose to play it on the Tonight Show.
  24. I dunno... I read a post somewhere here where Glenn (I think) said they print out the most requested songs the day of the show and work them into the setlist then.
  25. I'll be there, too... also excited about the show. Not sure what I'll be wearing exactly, but I'll be the loner dude at the bar before the show.
