Heavy Metal Drummer is one of the better sing along songs of the Wilco catalog, although I'm not sure if "oooooooooo .... hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy" qualifes as sing along. It's one of Wilco's song that I prefer Jeff doing solo rather than the band performing it, especially when he namechecks other artists. My wife and I will be there, along with a couple of friends still in college. We're from Charlotte, and the only places near Ovens that come to mind that I would recommend to others is Lupe's (regularly voted best burger in Charlotte, along with the best chili in Charlotte), Red Rocks, or Hotel Charlotte. Has anyone considered making a matrix mix of this show? I know there is the Web rip along with an audience recording of this. I don't know if Matrix mixes with Web rips are discouraged or frowned upon, but it just seems like there are several Tweedy and Wilco shows where we have a webcast recording and an audience recording which haven't been mixed by anyone. I certainly don't blame anyone, because I have neither the equipment or knowledge, but it seems like more of this was done in the past with Wilco shows.

If the band's performance may have seemed a little uninspired, one must also consider that they are the very last element of the show and get to play one song. I know that's what they expect going into the appearance, but all the same, it doesn't necessarily conjure up much motivation. I thought the performance was satisfactory but nothing special. Oh well.

I love both the Band and Wilco and cannot imagine life without listening to either of their musical contributions. That said, I think the Band will forever be a huge part of our Music History for three reasons: 1. They will forever be linked to Bob Dylan 2. Their own albums, which at least two are considered classic masterpieces 3. Hell Is Chrome fits in pretty well with the mood of Sky Blue Sky, so I think it'll stay. Hummingbird is unique in that Jeff doesn't play guitar on it, so it has become a crowd pleaser. Handshake Drugs has a groove where everyone is really contributing to it (and John probably wants to keep playing it because it has a killer base groove). This may be ethically questionable, but a long time ago I purchased the first Loose Fur CD. Several years ago I sold all my CD's and backed them up. However, my copy of Good Chinese Apple for some reason has several skips now. The rest of the CD plays fine on my iTunes and iPod. However, they Loose Fur doesn't have their CD's on iTunes (which is where I purchased individual songs). I didn't know if someone might PM me with a YSI of the album version of the song.
