  1. No, I call it borderline insanity . . .
  2. Um, yeah, so the Mayor of Detroit will spend the night in jail. What great headlines the City is getting. http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/08/07/mayor.jailed/index.html
  3. I pray to God it's at the Chicago or Auditorium Theatre next year so I don't have to stand in line in minus 10 degree weather for 2 hours for 5 out of 6 days.
  4. I think they may delay some acts and not show everyone in real time. I seem to recall that being the case with Arcade Fire a couple of years ago. But I could be wrong.
  5. Is anyone still following this saga? It gets more bizarre by the day. Now he may face assault charges from the Michigan AG's office for shoving a Wayne Co. Sheriff's official. KK has a lot on his plate.
  6. Who You Are (and I was wrong, it's once since 1998 -- which is even more rare) I like these setlists way more than the predictable, jukebox-like setlists that they could play.
  7. So a song that's only been performed 3 times since 1998, a song that hasn't been performed in its entirety since 1995, and a song that's never been performed at all amount to a "meh?" Tough crowd.
  8. That's awesome. I thought that this was one of the better songs that they reprised at the Residency shows. I'm glad they brought it back it again.
  9. But I think there's a huge difference between someone like Conan when he started and someone like Fallon. With Conan, he was an unknown. Sure, he was a writer on SNL and producer for the Simpsons, but not a whole lot of people knew of him, so they had no preconceptions about him and tuned in to draw their own conclusions. With Fallon, people know him, and he seems very polarizing. People know him from SNL and the two-bit movies in which he starred after. Those that don't care for him won't give him the benefit of the doubt and won't even bother tuning in, regardless of how good or bad he
  10. No offense, but I'll take Rashard Mendenhall 10 spots lower and about $5 million less and get more production. I know Scout, Inc. ranks McFadden No. 1, but I honestly think that you're getting more of a versatile back who can run with both a bruising and finess style, block, and catch the ball in Mendenhall. He has incredible break-away speed for such a big guy (just ask USC), and is smart. Plus, he doesn't have the character issues that McFadden has.
  11. It sounds like they're having difficulty selling tickets to some of the shows. I don't ever remember Wilcoworld sending out emails like this in the past.
  12. My God, Darren McFadden isn't even the best running back in the draft, let alone the best available player after the No. 1 pick.
  13. Great. So we get to see him ruin every joke during the standup bit, every interview, and every song during the musical portion when he starts laughing during the middle of everything. What an awful choice this would be.
  14. (Luckily) our baby woke us up at about 4:00, and I was semi-awake and drifting to sleep when I felt our bed (and what felt like our building) sway. I woke my wife up asking her if she felt anything. Needless to say, she thought that I was either dreaming or completely nuts. Going back to sleep, I actully did think that it could have been an earthquake. I still couldn't believe it when I read about it this morning.
  15. It's about time! Time to celebrate!
  16. I agree with you that he's made some costly and untimely errors (is there such a thing as timely errors). But in his defense, on that particular play, it's Miguel Cabrera's job to yell to Polanco to let him know that he should throw to first. Cabrera didn't say a word. Your instinct is to look home first. He threw the ball to get the ball into the infield.
  17. It would be nice if they played to crowds of less than 20,000 people when they come to Chicago.
  18. That had a lot to do with Tigers' hitters swinging at every pitch. The White Sox only threw 24 total pitches in last 4 innings of yesterday's game. The Tigers are just awful right now. Completely dreadful. It's not the weather. It's not the "team slump." It's not the lack of chemistry. It's that the Tigers are really, really bad right now. They are every bit as bad as their record suggests. Hopefully Leyland's supposed tirade yesterday kicks some life into the team. They literally gave up on Saturday and Sunday. Luckily the Indians are struggling.
  19. This country is too polarized (and marginalized) right now for there to be a landslide.
  20. From Jayson Stark (this pretty much sums it up):
  21. Last year the Yankees were 8 games under .500 in late April and still made the post season. I think they were worse off than the Tigers are now.
  22. Breaking News: The Tigers lost again. And now back to your regularly scheduled program already in progress.
  23. I want to know who in the hell is paying Dan Webb and his $750/hr. fee. What a joke.
  24. I agree. But the only question is, is that the direction in which Jeff Tweedy would like Wilco to go?
