  1. I'm not a big fan of cut-and-paste concert DVDs. I'd much prefer an entire concert, from start to finish (blemishes and all). We'll see how this one turns out though.
  2. Well, considering how late they are in announcing it, it's good news for those of us hoping that they do it in warmer months.
  3. Pearl Jam also does a great cover of the Split Enz "I Got You." That is all.
  4. It's GA seated. Think of it like the bleachers at Wrigley -- seats are first come, first served (although they may sell a few more tickets than they have seats (people stand in the back bar area) which may not guarantee you a seat). In the past two years though, that didn't seem to be a problem. I've actually sat in the same seat for both years.
  5. This is solid. Interestingly, it's one of their most radio-friendly songs, and its on a comp.
  6. Yeah, I dropped $140 on a bunch of songs that I already heard (Ten Super Deluxe), so you can say I'm a fan. By the way, my 10-month-old's favorite toy is a tamborine that I got a PJ show. My wife thinks it's got a mix of Vedder sweat and cocaine on it and that we're harming our son. That is all.
  7. This is one of my favorite National lyrics . . .
  8. Getting a decent live version of Knot Comes Loose is worth the price of admission alone folks.
  9. Given that I'll be at a Living Room show the weekend before on my birthday, I imagine that my wife will divorce me if I even suggest that we spend Valentine's Day night together at the Vic at a Jeff Tweedy show.
  10. A Late Spring/Summer/Early Autumn Residency sounds so much more appealing.
  11. I've never heard of a team seeking an entire bullpen in FA or via off-season trade. It's really pretty astounding.
  12. You mean like Emil Jones refusing to call a vote in the Senate like he did with the recall measure to get his pay raise?
  13. Wait! So does this mean that Emil Jones won't be the next U.S. Senator from the great State of Illinois? *Fixed
  14. I think Copperopolis is their second-best album (although Paul Kimball didn't do a great job with the production). Arousing Thunder, Crackdown, The Bridge, Armchair, and Bethlehem Steel are fantastic. If I had to rank the GLB albums, they would be: 1. Mighty Joe Moon 2. Copperopolis 3. Fuzzy 4. Jubilee I'm not particularly fond of Grant Lee Phillips' recent solo work, but I admit that Mobilize is a great album.
  15. I can't wait to pick this up -- there are so many subtleties on the Murmur album that are hidden by the previous production. And as I've said before in the other REM thread, New Adventures is by far the most-underrated REM album in the catalogue. It's easily top 5 (in no order: Murmur, New Adventures, Lifes Rich Pageant, Document, and Automatic).

    LRS spot

    Everywhere but Texas.
  17. I would gladly wait at least another year for the next album if it meant that Jim O'Rourke was involved.
  18. Wreckroom is pure, sonic bliss. That is all.
  19. I ruined What's The World Got In Store. And you know what? I don't care. I still love listening to it. That is all.
  20. I'm pretty certain it won't be available for public consumption.
  21. This comparison was born right around the time that YHF started to receive critical acclaim. Basically, if there was no YHF in the Wilco catalogue, this comparison wouldn't exist today.
  22. Misunderstood Cars Can't Escape> Spiders (Kidsmoke) I LOVE this hat trick. Love it!
  23. I thought about that as soon as I hit "reply." Now that I have a kid with whom I'll surely want to play sports, I value my extremities more than last February.
