Kid Charlamaign is by far my favorite Steely Dan song.
-
Nice! I just got a replacement needle for my record player and this is the first vinyl I threw on. There's really nothing better.
-
Wow, that could be anyone. If it's "The Fray" someone is getting a smackdown. I ended up getting the GA tickets. I hope to be in line by about noon or so, I'll be the guy with the beer.

Nice. When I saw them at Red Rocks last year, it was raining so hard they had to stop in the middle of Hey Nineteen and move everything back from the stage. Then they started the song over. I got a song and 1/2 of Hey Nineteen. The roadies were standing there holding umbrellas over the band which I doubt you would see at an Against Me! show.
-
Me too. And the Pixies did an even more f**ked version.
-
That's just classic Black Sabbath sound right there. Jim Simpson was their manager right? What's he playing on "Thomas Jam"?
-
I should have said I would go back, Jack, do it again! Missed opportunity.
-
Saw them last year and had a great time. If you like Steely Dan you should like it. A crack band, classic song after classic song, I would do it again.

Good lord, I was not even close to being that cool at 16. I think at that age it was all Floyd, Zep, Rush, Priest...
-
First Vinyl I ever bought was either "The life and times of Jim Croce" or Tommy (sadly it was the movie soundtrack instead of the Who version). Boy that Oliver Reed can sing!
-
Getting it now, thanks!

I loved those scenes of them writing the song and wished the whole movie was like that. I got frustrated with all Godard's other stuff in between actually. It was cool how it started out as them doing a folky acoustic version and morphed into what it became. Amazing transformation.

Very Cool! My oldest daughter (almost 15) loves going to the record store with me. She got Tears for Fears (Raul and the kings of Spain or something like that) for $3. Can't get her to listen to Sonic Youth or Guided by Voices but she loves the Clash, the Decemberists, and many others I love.

Agreed, he is a class act all the way. And was a rebounding machine in his prime.
-
I just passed up reserved row 30 on the KBCO pre-sale thinking I can do better. Maybe I will go with GA after all.
-
It's so smooth man!

I'm not sure what "Better" means in this context. Yes, J. Mascis is a better guitarist. Better songwriter? No. Better singer? No. For some reason Dinosaur Jr. is considered the hipper, cooler, or whatever band but I like Nirvana's sonwriting better. I can't imagine Dinosaur Jr. pulling off an unplugged show like Nirvana did. I have never heard a song from Dinosaur Jr. that's as good as "All Apologies". And that's my subjective truth!

KBCO is doing the early sales tomorrow. I don't think you need a password, just need to sign up to be a member. Here is the link: http://www.kbco.com/pages/concertpage.html...article=2182351

Can't Utah at least try to wear out the Lakers a bit? Lakers are going to sweep and then be all rested and ready for the next victim.
-
I have been to tons of Red Rocks shows and it's never the same where the GA section is. If it turns out to be rows 2-24 I have a good strategy I can PM you with the details.
-
I'm holding out for reserved I guess. All they had was rows 25 - 43 but it would not let me buy the quantity I wanted. I think general admission is usually in the front and the back at Red Rocks?
-
I had all their albums and they were my first concert ever. I don't find myself listening to them but I know if I threw on Destroyer or Dressed to kill I would be Loving it.
-
So are tickets on sale today or tomorrow for this? I'm seeing conflicting info.
