  1. That was interesting. No details on Pat's stuff though. I never noticed Jeff playing Tele's I guess. I do love that Blue SG with the Bigsby that he plays. Out of all his electrics, that would be the one I want.
  2. You can't go wrong with "Daydream Nation". As far as good accessible stuff, "Goo" fits that for the most part and they are on a roll with their recent albums. "Murray Street", "Sonic Nurse" and "Rather Ripped" are all fantastic. "Dirty" is good too. Have I named them all yet?
  3. And a from me too. Just about the greatest album ever.
  4. You talented bastards, even you Jules! I got nothing but I really enjoy what I'm seeing.
  5. Love Aeroplane but have never checked out anything else! I mentioned it elsewhere but Jason Isbell says he listens to Neutral Milk at least 3 times a week. I thought that was interesting because it's no really a sound you associate with Isbell.
  6. I have a friend that pronounces it "DocumenTARY" instead of "DocuMENTary". Drives me nuts.
  7. I have to agree, Waters is one of the single greatest lyric writers in rock ever. I have to assume you are not a Floyd fan and have not paid attention to the lyrics.
  8. I agree, I will take Nirvana over Dinosaur Jr. anyday, although I love D. Jr.
  9. How dare you! I still think it's a good line regardless of what you think of the song.
  10. I'm glad others have mentioned Trout Mask because that one never worked for me either. I do think there is something to be said for repeated listenings. Sandanista is a great example of this. The new Animal Collective took me a few listens. Bee Thousand gets better with every listen. Husker Du and My Bloody Valentine. All of these have amazing melodies that may be hidden on a first run through and really start to come through the more you listen.
  11. Totally worth it. Do it! Just keep in mind, low oxygen and lots of stairs.
  12. Rate the president on msnbc. Looks like the repubs are flooding the voting as the "F" is currently winning: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29493093/
  13. I like the guys face standing next to him, looks like it must be his aide or something.
  14. Big Man, Pig Man, ha ha charade you are or I met a non dairy creamer explicitly laid out like a fruitcake
  15. I am not missing this. I have not heard information about a pre-sale yet either. The Wilco website says tickets are on sale Wednesday. KBCO and Ticketmaster both say the pre-sale is Thursday with regular tickets going on sale Friday. I will be trying Wednesday just in case I guess.
  16. One small example of why Steinbeck is great:
  17. "Walls in time" is just amazing.

    Wilco Vinyl

Dick: I guess it looks as if you're reorganizing your records. What is this though? Chronological? Rob: No... Dick: Not alphabetical... Rob: Nope... Dick: What? Rob: Autobiographical. Dick: No fucking way.
  19. Yeah, that was a surprise to me. D-Rose is the real deal.

    Wilco DVD

Amazing stuff on the DVD. I thought they were speeding up the filming on some of those Nels close ups where he is strumming. His hand is just a blur. I never thought about the toll the shows must take on them until the scenes with him and Glenn icing down after the show.
  21. I looked for this but no luck. Also could not find the Robert Pollard CD I was looking for. I did get the ashes DVD for $10 and the Dylan "No direction home" DVD for $5 though. Very tempted to get the Grateful Dead Winterland 1973 9 CD set but it was $80 bucks and I could not bring myself to do it.
