  1. Last night at the Malkmus show he asked if there was anyone from Wyoming there (there was) and said they were a big fan of that states black ice. He called it the "silent Killer" and "The lung cancer of the highways" or something like that.
  2. Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks with Tyvek opening
  3. Moss

    The RTT

    Someone check snopes!
  4. Man I cant bring myself to buy yet another Beatle box set(yet anyways) so winning it would be great! Lucky man.
  5. Yep that is definitely Lukather. He is a monster player.
  6. Thoughts and vibes to you!
  7. Interesting. This statement seems like a stretch “I Love My Dad” feels like a ribbing at latter-day Wilco, a dad-rock song about his dad". But who knows about his Nels Cline issue. Seems good natured to me but maybe he does not like Nels style? There was this from a review of his desertshore album: "They also tease out and amplify his sharp sense of humor, which can often get lost in his deadpan delivery. “I can play like Fripp or Johnny Marr, and I can play circles ‘round Jay Farrar,” he boasts or possibly just daydreams on “Livingstone Bramble”, and when he claims, “I hate Nels Cline,”
  8. The new Sun Kil Moon album has a song called "I love my dad" that has a funny shout out to Nels Cline: "When I was a kid my dad brought home a guitar he got from Sears. I took lessons from a neighbor lady but it wasn't going anywhere. He went and got me a good teacher and in no time at all I was getting better. I can play just fine. I still practice a lot but not as much as Nels Cline"
  9. So far, amazing. Might be the best thing he has done. Loving it. Makes me wish I would have waited for the CD copy and some headphones instead of the MP3's I have. Really interested to know what you think.
  10. I thought about that one but the presence of Billy Preston made me not choose it. I want my experience to be the real Beatles, not the ones on their best behavior because someone else is there. I don't know, maybe that's kind of stupid. That's also why I didn't pick While my guitar gently weeps.
  11. Since there are no real master tapes that survived for those years I'm not sure we will ever have good remasters. What a tragedy.
  12. Would have been awfully fun to watch the first audition with George Martin in 1962. Watching them at 19/20ish would have been fascinating. As the story goes, Martin was very taken with their wit and charisma, what a blast to watch.
  13. This looks interesting but maybe not at $151 bucks. In celebration of the Small Faces recent induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, Charly Records are proud to present Here Come The Nice , a beautiful heavyweight deluxe box set compilation of the band s 1960 s career on Andrew Loog Oldham s pioneering Immediate Records label. 75-songs over 4CDs remastered from original analogue master tapes & studio multitracks. Every worldwide hit single, A & B side plus EPs on 1CD. Rare and previously unreleased material, unheard recording sessions from Olympic, IBC & Trident Stud
  14. Wow that's tough although I think Choo Choo Charlie might have come pretty close for me: 1) Twist and Shout 2) Helter Skelter 3) A Day in the Life 4) Two of us 5) Dear Prudence
  15. Or if he wanted to be completely Narcissistic he could play this one:
  16. Turn on: People who say they are quitting smoking Turn off: People who say they are quitting drugs/alcohol
  17. I have been known to do some drunk ricocheting so it totally makes sense to me.
  18. That's funny. I have a friend who is a very casual Wilco fan that specifically mentioned liking that line.
  19. Love that Rosewood Tele George is playing. I remember staring at that guitar for like 15 minutes at the R&R Hall of fame. Always liked how they start I dig a Pony with "All I want is you".
