  1. Hearing that a player took steroids is becoming so anticlimactic. Like finding out Paul Lind was gay.
  2. Very cool. You always know it's an early clip when Jimmy Page is playing that Tele. He's become so synonymous with the Les Paul.
  3. It's strange when some of your favorites end up on somebody elses least favorite list. Nobody girl and Enemy Fire are a couple favorites of mine from Ryan Adams for example. Man, trying to pick Zep or Beatle songs I like the least is tough. I like everything by them.
  4. I'll give it a shot for Zep: 1. Moby Dick 2. The Crunge 3. D'yer Mak'er 4. Dazed and Confused 5. Living Loving Maid There, that was painful.
  5. Have to agree, one of the most beautiful melodies ever written. Hard to imagine someone liking "Anna" or "Octopuses Garden" or a few others better than that one.
  6. Have not dusted this one off in awhile.
  7. Exactly right! I would not have come up with that one without seeing them on Letterman. They sounded good.
  8. This is great, I'll probably pick up Dicks Picks 8. I like the fact that is has an acoustic disc and an electric disc. Plus I already know I like St. Stephen, Friend of the Devil, I know you rider. Not exactly obscure tunes I know but hey, I'm beginning. I'm also thinking about Dicks picks 10 since it's several years later and it has "Loser" on it. Anyways, thanks for the help on this.
  9. I was going to try but it's impossible for me. I lack the commitment. Very interesting seeing other peoples choices.
  10. I'm not really offended either although it certainly does not work for me, I didn't make it through the whole video. Hell, maybe it will turn on some people to his music or at least his lyrics that would never have listened to him before.
  11. Agreed, I'm really enjoying this record. Maybe they are trying to compare it to Bee Thousand or something. I have not read the review but I'm on my way to look at it.
  12. Let's not forget, it has to be tough trying to tour as the Golden god at his current age. I think he is aging rather gracefully with the raising sand stuff. Probably a bit afraid of messing with the legacy as well. I actually liked his early work with Robbie Blunt. Songs like Moonlight in Samosa, Pledge Pin, and Far Post (Love that damn song) hold up.
  13. Love the album, it took up residence in my CD player for weeks and I still revisit it often.
  14. C'mon, not a single "Afternoon delight" popping up? Are these really on random play?
  15. You have mentioned this one a few times and I'm intrigued. Is it similar to Black Keys?
  16. Sometimes A Great Notion ~ Ken Kesey A few people have mentioned this one which I can't believe I forgot. This has to be in my top 5 as well. Damn, I think I'm up to about 10! Great to be getting all these recommendations.
  17. I have heard that from others as well. Somebody gave me the book because they hated it.
  18. Very Nice. Now I'm going to be late for work!
  19. I can't believe I left that off. The more I read these the more I want to change my original 5! I'm not sure it's possible to pick just 5. A Confederacy of Dunces is a must read for anybody.
  20. It was definitely a Psychedelic Shop! I know it was very close to Haight Ashbury if not right on it. Thanks for the suggestions so far, I think your spot on. Not sure I need a 50 minute Dark Star to start out with. Although I do plan to study Jerry's improv a bit, see if I can learn something!
  21. Throw on some Buffalo Springfield or Buffalo Springfield again today.
  22. Had to look Norwescon up! Must be cooler than I think.
