  1. If you don't like the Beatles, your opinions about music no longer carry weight with me. I know it's an unfair bias, but there it is.
  2. This is probably my biggest one right now. Would love to see PJ in the near future.
  3. That is just a great book. One of my faves of the decade.
  4. Just saw him on Austin City Limits. Made me want to dig this one out.
  5. I remember walking home one dark night as a teenager listening to Echoes. All was good and soothing until it got to the spooky middle section. Started freaking me out and I had to flip the tape. What a great album, I love the sound of Wright/Gilmour singing together. They should have done more of that.
  6. I'm not just saying this because it's a Wilco site. But I think this really is my dream guitar:
  7. Interesting. I had no problem with my daughters seeing this album cover at any age really.
  8. I was never a huge fan of the look of those guitars (I like the classic Tele more) but I have never heard one of these that did not sound amazing, and that's really what counts.
  9. Been on a GBV jag lately. Just got the Pearl Jam 20 though so think I'll switch to that.
  10. I always kind of liked that cover... http://new.music.yahoo.com/blogs/listoftheday/141515/the-twenty-five-worst-album-covers-of-all-time/
  11. Well that's just about the cutest thing I have seen in a long while. And great names!
  12. I guess by that argument we can expect Nickelback to get in at some point? I just don't see that G N' R broke any new ground, has an amazing body of work, or really changed or influenced music in any way. But I fully cop to a complete bias in the matter.
  13. One of the comments to the article says there are 5 Toby songs, can't confirm that though.
  14. Ridiculous, 1 decent album, good guitar player, terrible singer. No way they belong over Replacements, Cheap Trick, Rush, Ozzy, Deep Purple, Cars, and just about anyone else. The hideousness of "November Rain" alone should ban them for eternity.
  15. Got high hopes for this! Coming in January: http://www.mojo4music.com/blog/2011/09/guided_by_voices_classic_line.html Guided By Voices classic '90s line-up will release an album of new material in January 2012. The cult, low-fi heroes - Robert Pollard, Tobin Sprout, Greg Demos, Mitch Mitchell and Kevin Fennell - have returned to the studio to record Let's Go Eat The Factory. It will be this line-up's first new LP since 1996's fan favourite Under The Bushes, Under The Stars. The band have just completed a year-long reunion tour. Let's Go Eat The Factory will be released on January 1, 2012.
  16. I'm guessing there won't be a G N' R reunion for the show. Actually I'm hoping there won't be, don't really want them to get in.
  17. Not sure if this was posted anywhere but I thought it was an interesting debate: Wilco: Are they Rock Pioneers or bandwagon poseurs? http://music.msn.com/music/article.aspx?news=671848&gt1=28102
  18. I'm still digesting this one. Just some amazing moments in it.
  19. Wow, check out the big brain on Thomas! Congrats!
