I am so confused on the 72 stuff that is available. I already own "stepping out" but have not idea what to get next. I would have like to get that all inclusive 72 set but since that didn't happen, is there a way to get a complete set of 72 shows by buying them seperately? Or am I going to end up with a lot of duplicate stuff?

Tuesday: Roger Waters is teaming up with Foo Fighters (for the first time ever) to perform "In the Flesh," off the singer-bassist's opus "The Wall." Fallon will also get a crack at interviewing Waters during the show. Wow, note to self, get the DVR set.

Those first 5 albums (plus Chronic town) had such a huge place in my life. Saw them several times starting with the Fables tour. But it was probably time.

Yeah, no matter what it's a beautiful guitar. I wonder if Jeff had a hand in the design? Maybe he picked the white pickguard and the color?

I just really liked the long jammy stuff he did on RET. Absolutely nobody plays like Malkmus, the droning, dissonant, "how can that possibly work", off kilter stuff.

At this point, I prefer Real emotional trash to the new one but I still really like it.

You are probably right, I'm confused on the difference between the 2 as well.

I think it was this guy I saw, must be well known, the picture came right up.

I do find Rugby fascinating but have no idea how it works. The dribbling of the ball seems so random. The whole scrum thing is beyond me. Those guys are the toughest guys in sports. Saw some big tough looking bearded guy just running balls out into people, no helmet or anything, completely oblivious to injury or pain. How long is the average career in that sport?

Gets better with every listen

All I know is Nels will have to be icing up after playing this one. That outro is crazy.

Yeah I did the same thing. The Borders here is closing in 4 days so all CD's on sale. I got Grinderman 2, The Joy Formidable, Superchunk, Buzzcocks, and a bunch others. I'm thinking that at least part of Borders problems is the fact that these CD's are %80 discounted and still cost $5.

It is so Damned Hard to Keep up With Everything!
Moss replied to kidsmoke's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Oh yeah, sorry, somehow skipped over that. In that case, yes. Work kicking my ass-no time for lunch even, 8 games of "Words with friends" going on Facebook, have to learn 5 songs for the band, just bought 5 CD's at Borders going out of business I will probably never get around to listening too, Backed up with MOJO, Rolling Stone, and the new George R. R. Martin book. I need a vacation. -
Band lead singers you met? Friendly, not friendly? Impressions?
Moss replied to remphish1's topic in Someone Else's Song
I never really approach celebs at all, just don't really know what I would say. I sympathize with those people meeting Tweedy on camera in IATTBYH. Biggest one for me was probably Stevie Ray Vaughan. He was walking through the old Stapleton airport in Denver with his band and from what I remember, carrying one of those big video cameras they had back in the 80's (still in the box). He was wearing all his voodoo chile finery. He got in line to get into the airport bar (can't remember why there was a line to get into the bar). I was about 17 and got his autograph. He was very cool, said -

There was a question? -
The end of this song reminds me of the end of the Soprano's theme where Tony is getting out of his SUV.

Nothing hip or cool but our version of Superstition from a few weeks ago, me on guitar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6LOIM6y218

Sir George Martin in "Bloody awful" Beatles track shocker
Moss replied to Albert Tatlock's topic in Someone Else's Song
I really enjoyed that story, thank you. Sounds like an amazing time, just hearing it brought out the inner Beatles geek in me. Come Together, that is a surprise. I would have thought maybe "something". -
Agreed, never saw the movie it soundtracks but it's another album I listened to a ton growing up.

Woke up this morning and had to plead with my wife to get the hell off the computer so I could have one last listen since I assume it will be disappearing soon. Just hoping I can get to One Sunday morning one more time this fine Sunday morning.
-
He also mentions it in MOJO when asked what the connection between One Sunday Morning and Jane Smiley was: "I did my best to capture what I felt was poignant about a conversation I did indeed have with Jane's engaging, friendly and wise boyfriend. Other than that there is no connection." There is so much musically going on in that song. Volume swells on guitar, little perfect piano fills, Jeff's amazing, intimate sounding vocals, and the bass is just so perfect in it. Like someone mentioned, it's really a song only Wilco could have made and is everything I love about the band. Interes

Lines like "Wave upon wave of demented avengers run cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream..." Those guitar stabs after "you better watch out" and "There may be dogs about"... I never tire of it. I like animals better than wish you were here but I think that's at least partly due to the massive radio play of so many WYWH songs. You never hear Animals songs on the radio.
