  1. I remember going to the rock and roll hall of fame and they have an SG hanging there that was used on a bunch of George Harrison songs and then a bunch of Badfinger songs (baby blue, no matter what, etc...), then I saw Tweedy play Spiders (Kidsmoke) at red rocks with a blue one. Then Tony Iommi, Angus Young, Eric Clapton.... Yeah, I want one.
  2. Thanks for that, I will be at the Boulder show for sure. Very cool. I thought they were going to be tied up with Jackson Browne for awhile.
  3. I got a reply from my local guitar shop when I asked about it on facebook: "Yes! Troy just said we will be getting 4 of these in a couple weeks. Thanks for the post." If they are showing up in stores in a few weeks, why does there seem to be no mention of them on the Gibson website or really anywhere else?
  4. Good info, thanks. It was actually Arthur I was looking for when I talked to the guy. I'll stop in and see what they have now.
  5. Clearly KOL didn't pay enough dues before they got big, they seem to have no humility at all and take their fans for granted. Cancelling a show for pigeons and for it being too hot. When I saw them at Red Rocks they were not allowing blankets or bottled water of any kind which is standard for that place with every other band. I'm sure it's their tour manager that deals with that but it's a reflection of the band either way.
  6. The owner of the local record store said he thinks The Kinks must be planning some sort of Reissues at this point. He is not even stocking old kinks now, something about them not being on catalog (or something like that).
  7. They get better and better as you go along. I have the newest one that just came out but have not jumped into it yet as I want to make sure I can savor every word. Plus I need to try to remember what the hell happened in the previous books since it's been so long.
  8. Oh man, I want that guitar. I have actually looked for something similar but the closest I could find was the Eliott Easton model. Sounds like a decent price too.
  9. Yeah, I had a soft spot for them. One of the very first records I ever bought was the America Greatest hits album.
  10. Yeah, it says the death is "Unexplained" but c'mon. I guess you can't rule out suicide or something.
  11. He's the real deal isn't he? I just love his whole style.
  12. Yeah, I never got the hate for that song. I know the other Beatles complained about the endless sessions to complete the song which they seem to hate but I always kind of liked it., I'm long past the point of even being kind of objective. I know Mr. Moonlight is kind of reviled as a Beatles tune and I actually love that song.
  13. I considered buying tickets but I have seen both bands before. If band of horses was headlining I would be all over it but not really interested in seeing Kings of leon again. I vastly prefer band of horses.
  14. Wow, Pitchfork gives reissue Megadeth - Peace Sells an 8.7 and a respectable review. I actuallly like Rust in Peace better. Megadeth review
  15. Addictive site, spent all weekend on it. I'm up to 160+ points already. Unfortunately I'm at work and can't get on right now. Hope to spin some tunes with you sometime though!
  16. I loved those books but was very disappointed with the last one. The ending was not bad but the over all book was kind of a let down.
  17. Maybe this was answered already somewhere but does Chris Squire own the name? He seems to be the only constant in the line up. I sat down last night and tried to play "starship troooper" on guitar, that whole song is a challenge. Except maybe the "wurm" part which I nailed!
  18. Speaking of the books, I just got an e-mail from Amazon that the new one I pre-ordered has shipped.
  19. That is one dark, violent, entertaining book.
