  1. Just took a listen, really liked the set list. I counted 40 "Nothings".
  2. Don't get me wrong, even though many are formulaic, I still end up liking them. I just wanted to make the point that these are not your standard fantasy books and could be enjoyed by people that don't really like the genre. There was a review of the show somewhere (hell, maybe in this thread) that stated it was more "godfather" than "Lord of the rings" (or something like that). I never did get into the Stephen Donaldson when I tried reading them but that was like 30 years ago so maybe I should give them a shot. I am now all caught up with the series and I am loving the job they are doi
  3. Ugh, took a quick listen to this, not to my taste at all. Made vampire weekend sound like Tinariwen
  4. Seconded! Do you ever sell the original drawings for these? Wouldn't mind owning this one...
  5. How did I not get that? I got that on vinyl on record store day last year.
  6. Ooh, I know that one as I was just learning it on the guitar a few nights ago. Pretty Noose by Soundgarden. How about an easy one: "My daddy used to empty out his shotgun shells and fill them full of black eyed peas".
  7. Since we are bound to see Miami in the finals for about the next 5 years, go Dallas! Nowitski needs a ring for being one of the classier players in the league.
  8. I just ordered this from Amazon, I love me some Bill Withers. How do you turn a duck into a soul singer? Put him in the microwave until it's Bill Withers.
  9. Now that is just really cool. Too bad there is no show like Jools in the US.

  11. What the hell, I can't find my helplessness blues disc anywhere, I don't remember ever losing a CD before. Must have fallen out of my work bag. I hate re-buying CD's, especially ones I just bought a week ago! It's good for me to hear some of these reviews, I was on the fence about seeing them at Red Rocks but sounds like it's well worth it.
  12. I think you just named the next two Toby Keith albums.
  13. I was definitely referring to the songs when I said it seemed safe so your reply is very interesting. I suppose a huge chunk of the crowd would have been unhappy if they didn't get to hear "sunday bloody sunday", "pride", "Where the streets have no name", "Vertigo", etc... In fact there were quite a few people around me that only perked up when they played those songs. Like everyone else, I have my favorites and they were not well represented. I'm not a big fan of the more electronic disco stuff (Zooropa for example), or at least I have not given it enough of a chance (but I don't have a p
  14. So 2 years after I bought the tickets I finally saw my first U2 show last night. First of all, The Fray (opening band) were as bad as I could have imagined. Every song was just this sad, AOR, dirge of a failed Coldplay song. Just horrible. They are home town boys but I just really did not enjoy them. The U2 stage was certainly amazing and the sound was good but the show just felt so safe. No real going deep in the mix or anything. I liked them doing "end of the world" and Bono saying before the song "To be taken up to the air, sounds like fun to me — just as long as Larry Mullen is with
  15. Wow, the Red Sox/Cubs game has become a real plunkfest.
  16. I left some shoes and clothing in the driveway to make them think they got left behind.
  17. U2 tonight, my first one.
  18. Especially because they are the recipients of their fare share of "Superstar calls".
  19. Giambi finally delivering for the Rockies!
  20. I can't see some of the posts that are on here (blocked at work) but how about "Got to get you into my life" by The Beatles or "Can't hardly wait" by the Replacements?
