  1. Whoa, I enjoyed the hell out of that, what a voice. And what a suit.
  2. See, now that Muddy guitar is pretty cool and classy. I would take one of those. The other interesting phenomenon is the exact "replica" guitar. Like the copy of Gilmour's black strat or SRV's Lenny guitar. Copied down to the scratches and stickers and whatever. Unbelievable the prices they are charging for those things. Usually in the 5 figures range.
  3. Just saw this in the news. Theaters adapt, stage 'A Confederacy of Dunces' Confederacy of dunces With a picture of the guy playing Ignatius.
  4. Really it's the special features of the guitar I want rather than the signature name. Given the choice between 2 identical guitars, one signature and one not, I would take the non signature.
  5. I have never bought one but I always wanted an Eric Johnson or SRV strat.
  6. The other important point is Michael Anthony added a ton to their sound vocally that they won't be able to duplicate without him. I doubt Wolfie can hit them high notes. And Little Dreamer is a pretty great song.
  7. I was going to go with "The no talent hack" but I like yours better. I actually don't have a problem with signature guitars, apparently they must sell and that's what Gibson is in business to do. It's very hard to imagine someone buying a Nicklekroeger guitar but they would probably out sell a Jeff Beck model for all I know. You can lead a musician to guitars but you can't give them taste. Dave Navarro is actually a good guitarist.
  8. I have to admit I'm intrigued by the love I am hearing. Guess I better add this one to the list.
  9. "Adivan eyes" is just a great song.
  10. Cool, I'm doing it in the right order then!
  11. Apologies if this has been asked but has anybody heard the new Further/Robert Hunter songs that "easily pass as outtakes from 70's Grateful Dead LP's" according to Rolling Stone? Muli Guli Colors of the Rain Seven Hills of Gold Sounds like they are only playing them live and won't be recording them. According to Lesh "I personally have no desire to make a record, That art form is dead. I'd rather just put them out there on the web. We never made money off our albums anyway".
  12. My first venture into Wallace. Actually just bought it but have not yet started it.
  13. Seriously? This is the cover of the new Weezer album? New weezer album
  14. The only possible way it could be good is if Rick Rubin produces it and works his magic of bringing them back to their roots. And get Ted Templeton to engineer so maybe they can get back to that VH1 or VH2 guitar sound. Ditch the keyboards on this one and just rip. But no, it's pretty much going to have to suck.
  15. Them kids needed to learn not to bring that weak shit. He should have sent some of them shots into the cheap seats. I'm having a hard time thinking less of Lebron for this one, I'm sure he didn't spend the entire time working the kids over, someday they will get to say they were in a game with him. I'm not sure of the circumstances but I like he was there playing with the kids at all.
  16. I can't think of a creepier one off the top of my head. Although Angels and Fuselage by DBT always gives me the willies. Try listening to that one on a plane some time.
  17. Feathers would have been great on here! Has that ever been officially released? It's actually one of my favorite songs by them.
  18. I finally as able to give it a good listen and I am really enjoying it. Chris is sounding great on it. Hearing these versions is helping me figure out what they play on the original versions, it's sometimes hard to hear the separate guitar parts on an album like Southern harmony. I'm surprised how good a song like My morning song sounds this way. I'm learning a little more respect for the "new" keyboard player too.
  19. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OlamPadzMZY Speaking of two virgins, one of the funnier parts of anthology was Ringo talking about that album (at about 1:15 on this clip)
  20. Keep in mind SRV died in 1990. Clapton had already released the good stuff by then, including Layla.
