Actually I didn't even know they were still around.

I would certainly rather see Badfinger get in than Bon Jovi come to think of it.

I suppose Bon Jovi will get in. Can't think of a song by them I really like but I don't think our band has ever played a gig without a female (always a female) coming up and requesting a Bon Jovi song.

I totally agree diet is the biggest factor in losing weight. You have to jog for a good 15 minutes just to work off one beer. I'm sure if I give up the beer, chips and salsa alone I would probably start losing weight. I do everything exaclty wrong. I hardly eat at all during the day, then I get home and wolf down the calories. I did find that if I counted calories on the "Carol King" website I started dropping weight. I just put my Sansa on random play when I work out. I find any music works for me to distract from the hell. I don't need hard rock or rap to get me going. Plus I like

The Spin Doctors really don't deserve the derision.

I have heard from several people that P90X actually works so maybe I should try that. Working in Boulder Colorado I am surrounded by tri-athletes and serious runners so I certainly have plenty of help. It's the time management and motivation I need help with.

I would never have the guts to approach him, I would have probably just stared like a dork. how cool to fist bump Bob Dylan. It's funny he had him sign it "to chumlee" when it was supposed to be for selling at the store.

Thanks so much, that made my night! And pretty cool you were there Todd, I'm envious.

Any suggestions on a good 1980's release Grateful Dead? I have worn out the "Steppin out" album and I am looking for something a bit different. Mostly I listen to GD radio but would like to expand the collection now. I need some ideas.

Justin Townes Earle in rehab, postpones tour
Moss replied to ih8music's topic in Someone Else's Song
Not a huge surprise given the role models in his life, I assume it's a booze issue? Louie, I think your point about being sort of a method actor and trying to hard to live the life is probably spot on but It's got to be tough considering he finds himself in clubs every night surrounded by free drinks. I do like the new album quite a bit. -
So I just got back from buying a new wah wah pedal but I'm kind of worried. I have used the Crybaby for over 20 years but they just don't seem to hold up and I'm getting tired of buying new ones. I just bought a VOX Wah Wah for the first time. Guy at the store said he liked them better. Less noise, sturdier, smoother sweep. I'm actually more concerned about the change in tone I might get as I have a gig next Friday so don't have time to really adjust. Any thoughts or preferences on the Vox vs. the Crybaby? I am having second thoughts and thinking about returning it and going with th

Pavement is on Fallon tonight with the winner of the "play a song with Pavement" contest. I wonder what song they are doing?

Even though my favorite shows have always been in small clubs, it is kind of cool being alive in the era of Dylan, Floyd, Stones, McCartney, Waters... It will be strange not having them around, they have always been there my entire life. Then again Chuck Berry is still going strong so we could have a ways to go yet.

Might as well lock this bitch after that.

Not bad for what started as a $150 guitar. It's always cool just seeing those guys together in a picture, even just signing a guitar. Makes you think that just maybe...
-
I would not mind that signed Replacements guitar or the Chris Mars artwork. Wonder how high they will get?

Sweet Jesus I love Oban. In the winter next to a roaring fire with a good book, it's really all you need.

That would have been my advice. Southern Harmony is still my fave although Amorica is a close second.

I saw Nash Kato solo many years ago at the Troubador in L.A. and Blackie joined him onstage for one song. He said something like "I shared a van withthis guy for a decade, where is he?" and Blackie came out of the audience and played. I would love to see them tour around here. I remember hearing they were back together a long time ago but have not seen them come through the area or anything.

New Pornographers not welcomed at Calvin College
Moss replied to IATTBYB's topic in Someone Else's Song
I think the college is just making a statement about new pornography. They are totally down with old school porn.
